I totally get it. Once you are independent it's hard to fall back into other people's schedules. It's hard to not have space to leave out things you use regularly. I imagine filming situations have to be like sewing situations. When I sew I want to leave the ironing board out and be able to sew whenever it hits me. To have to put everything away every time I take a break makes me not want to sew later. I think your parents are also use to having their home be managed a certain way. This way you can all continue on as you please without tripping over each other.
