I'm new here and this is the first channel about plants based food I've subscribed to .I like it and you really are giving lots of information. Thanks and would you please explain how to make that Almonds Milk
@veganmichele3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rachid! Thank you so much for your kind words and for subscribing. To make almond milk: Soak the nuts In water for at least 8 hours, then drain. Combine nuts and 3 cups fresh water in a high speed blender, and blend until very smooth. Strain through a nut milk bag, or cheese cloth. Refrigerate in a glass container with lid up to 3 to 5 days. Enjoy!

Hi Mary! Thank you so much for your kind words. I always aim to keep it a low fat whole food plant based diet for weight loss (I’m trying to lose my pregnancy weight). I aim for about and 80% carbs 10% fat 10% protein but I’m not obsessing over it. I find for myself, and most of the people I coach that just aiming for 10-20% fat from whole plant sources works best. I am trying to add colorful and fiber rich and high protein stuff in my diet. I been calorie counting and counting macros. I am gonna start using my fiber power and eating more fruits and vegetables with high fiber and protein and more plant based products. I am trying to be more plant based and more vegan. I need to go whole foods one day I never been there. I will be doing a watermelon cleanse soon for 5 days or 10 days. I am feeling good. Really trying to eat less meat. I dont think i will ever commit to being vegan but eating less meat and dairy helps the animanlsa and environment. I weigh 220 and feel so good. Really trying to become 160 and gain muscle. And get my butt in gym and do weights and less cardio and really change my body. Your videos helped me and gave me fiber ideas.

Hi! I tried you smoothie recipe and I loved it! My only concern is that the quantity seems like a lot! Filled almost 3 standard glasses. Do you think thats fine? Is it healthy to drink that much in one go?
@veganmichele11 ай бұрын
I’m so glad you enjoyed it. It all depends on what you decide to eat in addition to a large smoothie like this the rest of the day. Feel free to half the recipe if you’d like. I personally get a large portion of my calories from fruits and veggies so I can afford to have a large smoothie, but if you are eating foods high in calorie density most of the day you may want to have a bit smaller portion of the smoothie.

You mentioned an "adequate amount of fat" at the end and I was wondering about that just as you said it. I didn't notice anything with a marked amount of fat. Maybe chia seeds but there wasn't a large amount. I typically eat a lot of avocado, nuts and seeds in a day, and other plant foods that are higher in fat. I find they keep me full along with the fiber. I note a seeming divide among vegans: some eat quite high in plant fats and others frankly seem to act like they may melt into nothing if they consume more than 10 grams of fat per day. LOL. :) Could you do a video on this? Or have you already made one? thanks!
@veganmichele3 жыл бұрын
Hey, I do have a video exactly on this subject. I agree with the experts like T Colin Campbell, Dr. Michael Gregor, and Dr. Neal Barnard. Eating a low fat plant based diet is optimal for overall health and weight loss. All Whole Foods have a percentage of fats even foods like rice and broccoli. So while the only overt fat I consumed this day was the chia seeds, my overall fat count was around the 10% mark. On a day to day basis I keep it between 10- 20% Take a look at this video where I go into detail about it. Thanks for watching: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmbWqH-lqN1ml9k

two bananas in a smoothie for one person seems like a lot. I am all for fresh fruit but even healthy sugar should be consumed in moderation. :) The title of this video says low calorie and weight loss but the high fiber part is what is most accurate! Otherwise great video!
@veganmichele3 жыл бұрын
Hi, To each their own, of course. I definitely do not restrict my calories, but eat large volumes of low calorie density foods like fruits vegetables, grains and legumes. These are very high fiber and low in calorie. It’s the best way to lose weight because you get to fill up on volume not high dense foods pack with calories. I don’t believe in being afraid of fruit. Eating whole fruits in abundance is not anything I would ever restrict or recommend restricting.
@aladdina203 жыл бұрын
@@veganmichele I completely understand and never said anything about being afraid of fruit. I LOVE fruit and in fact a bowl of fresh berries fills me up every afternoon like nothing else! I am a big fan of fruit I just felt two bananas and two apples in the same DAY was a lot. I also noticed that you skipped dinner so now I understand how you were able to keep the day low calorie as your title suggests. Just a personal preference but I would much rather have dinner and cut back to one apple and one banana. I'm a fan of dinner :) As I said, your videos are really well done and i will continue to watch and support! I will go like a whole bunch now :)

Got cha. I had received requests to film a video for those who like to snack and have one larger meal, and I demonstrated that in this video. But I think is best to eat the whole plant foods in the best time and way that works for you😉
@BartKaysBastardSon10 ай бұрын
There’s absolutely no reason to eat low calorie in an effort to induce weight loss. It’s the exact same concept of purposeful starvation. Losing weight at the cost of the hormone system is a mistake. This is why people gain the way back. Plant based/vegan is a complete farce and contraindicative for humans.

@BartKaysBastardSon10 ай бұрын
You would gain weight because carbohydrates will induce a process of fat grain and storage. Humans should not and do not need to consume fruit or any other carbohydrates/fiber. It’s absolutely unnecessary in the human diet and is contraindicative. Especially the candy like fruit of the modern age.
