pro tip on smoothies - blend together everything BUT the protein. Once everything is all blended, set the blender on a low/slow setting while you slowly add protein until it's all mixed in. No more frothy, nasty texture. It'll come out smooth as silk.

Love to see you're on that savory oat grind. I've been preaching about it for years haha. It's been a staple for me on both cuts and bulks. I actually really like the texture of mixing in an unflavored protein powder as well. Surprisingly, pea protein has the best, tastiest result for me over whey and casein. My go to lately has been throwing in a bit of chicken bouillon powder, half a can of diced tomatoes, a handful of greens and random seasonings before microwaving it and then mixing in maybe a tablespoon of shredded cheese and the protein powder and then topping with whatever else I've got. In the past, I've nixed the tomato and cheese and added in miso paste. That also works well.

Although tracking in any form would currently be detrimental to my mental health (coming from 11 Years of Anorexia) I still really enjoyed watching this video. Your approach to food seems so non-restrictive and chill. I hope I can achieve that someday. Going to the gym since November last year helped me a lot with accepting my body, allowing it to grow and to actually feel my body and my needs. I can finally see how eating actually does something for my well-being and allows me to feel strong. You were a big inspiration for me going to the gym. Thank you so much!

Your diet is clearly working. It’s a lot for your size, but your metabolism is killing it. It’s the same amount calories that I eat in a day (I eat double the fat, do half the carbs, and same protein). A lot of the snacking I do is mostly nuts 🥜, hence the higher fat content. I include them in meals too. There’s nothing like getting those nuts up in my mouth and getting all benefits of zinc, magnesium, and heart healthy fats. Sometimes I like them raw. I’m curious about the vitamins at night. Most people do the vitamins first thing in the day. The only pills taken at night are the extracurricular pills from the gas station. Filling that's rolled inside (and poured on top) is unsweetened apple sauce, cinnamon and brown sugar replacement, then you bake them. They are so good and chewy! I also tried topping them with a mix of fat free cream cheese, stevia, vanilla protein powder and sugar free maple syrup. I think I might like them better then real cinnamon rolls!

PSA for using knives in the kitchen: NUMERO UNO: Plz, plz, plzzz people. "Claw grip" so that there is absolutely no chance of cutting yourself. Just make sure that thumb stays tucked too. Helpful tip: "Start" a cut before making a cut. You can use the back of the knife to score a cut (if, for example, cutting tomatoes with a not-so-sharp knife or very ripe tomatoes with a thick skin). Can also lightly slide knife forward, then pull back through the cut. Never want to saw back and forth, or push hard to get something to cut. And remember: A SHARP knife is a SAFE knife. 😁👍 P.S. JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW that if you poach your eggs(can be done with mini egg separating pan poacher) you will in fact decrease “Glycation” because eggs are only high in “glyco toxins” if heated to high temperatures like frying and glyco toxins are NOT activated if poached, boiling does activate them. I learned all of this in DR Brant Cortrights book “The neuro genesis diet and lifestyle”, which also quickly describes glycation as the process that creates 50X more free radicals(causes/speeds aging in cells) when you consume protein and carbs together. EVEN IF you don’t follow all of his instructions in the book, it definitely includes biology boosting and preserving facts and records that are hard to find.

Great disclaimer at the end. Everybody is different (not to sound cheesy.) Everyone dietary needs are different, caloric intakes. That’s tracking apps can useful. I never been one to track but I might give this app a try.
@AnFeignАй бұрын
Studies show that people who jump into the deep end of macro and calorie tracking tend to burn out fast and lose the enjoyment of eating. This leads to the individual not achieving their long term weight and health goals due to mental and emotional fatigue. It is generally suggested that you set up achievable short term goals that will make you happy when you achieve them and promote self-efficacy. Your long term goal will not be achievable if you do not set yourself up with empowering short term goals that implement steady and reasonable behavioral changes in diet and macro consumption. If you are focusing on a calorie deficit, for the first week start with only 50 calories under your average caloric intake. Then next week or two weeks after go down to 100, until you reach the desired calorie deficit. These are achievable short term goals. It’s all about having the self awareness to create realistic and achievable goals.

well I’m glad you don’t take tracking too seriously but I think for people hitting the gym and wanting to make changes to their body tracking for a while is extremely important and I feel like so many people I’ve worked with over the years weren’t making progress on their fitness goals because of the nutrition part….it’s so normal to see the same people at the gym putting in a lot of effort and still looking exactly the same….not saying there’s not a ton of other factors that goes into changing your body but nutrition is a really huge part …what do you think professor patty?
@theleanbeefpatty2 ай бұрын
Nutrition is definitely major! I think there’s kind of steps if you want to reach a certain goal, and nutrition is up there as a key factor. I think sometimes people just like working out to workout tho and therefore don’t care too much about changing their diet (or they work out super intense as a way to feel better about their eating habits) or maybe something else! Haha whoooo knoooows
