i love your videos! I am French and the portions are so small bcs you have been into really fancy restaurants but in regular ones the portions will be bigger. Nevertheless in general yes the portions are smaller than in America like medium size in America is large size in France.

The reason they have such small portions is because people eat for the flavor instead of being full. Also, they don’t really have “take home” boxes, so they expect you to finish everything while in the restaurant.

wait so in the us you don’t have ashtrays on the outdoor tables as a norm? Another thing about restaurants/food in France or in general in Europe (at least Western): the restaurants you guys went to seemed really boujee and luxurious, in those type of places people come not to get full but rather to taste food. The reason of the small portions is because those small amounts of food contain a really high concentration of flavors, so you basically pay to taste and examine lots of different and interesting flavors mixed all together.
