My biggest tip for meal planning is to make a Pinterest board of recipes you want to try (& only pin the ones you REALLY you like to eat) and then try to cook that meal at least twice to see if you like it! Then I make a weekly meal list on my notes or a calendar by looking at the Pinterest meals board and it helps me stick to a schedule so much!

On this same line my bf and I bought a couple binders and sheet protectors and printed out all the recipes we know we like and have started our own cookbook and it’s just separated by like “soup/ stews, meat, and vegan/ vegetarian”

My mom got married in her early twenty’s, and only new how to make pasta. My dad and her worked together and learned to cook everything that would eat when they would go out. My parents then raised my siblings and I to be chefs and bakers.

As someone who could technically be your mom but more like a really older sister I was genuinely proud of you when you made that cake! I hope that doesn’t sound patronizing but I actually said out loud, “awww look at you! You did that!” 😂 go you! 👏🏻
@saharaweekly2 жыл бұрын
I had the same proud feeling. Not in a patronizing way but in a way that I can relate to because I learned those things too when I was younger.

This is so inspiring for someone who says they hate cooking… like me 😀 I had a bad experience cooking a couple months ago. I spilt cornstarch everywhere, dropped my phone into raw meat, dropped butter into the stove flame, couldn’t find any seasoning or the right meat and I feel like I dropped cooking altogether. BUT THIS IS INSPIRATIONAL.🎉

I’m exiting my twenties in a few years and I think this series is useful. It does show a lot of common experiences regarding what it’s like to navigate this part of your life; learning to have alone time, learning to build and value friendships, learning how to cook, building your interests. Good on you Ms. Hakey, not that it matters at all but I always watch your videos bc I think of you as a little sister anyway lol IM PROUD OF YOU ❤️

Just got my wife a Nespresso machine for her birthday a couple months ago, and the milk frother is legit. Instead of pouring your oat milk and creamer in the cup, you can put them in the frother together and you end up with a larger drink and it’s delicious. You can do hot and iced setting too!

You can cook broccoli at 400 degrees with some olive oil and sa!t and pepper for about 15-20 minutes while everything else cooks. I also highly recommend a rice cooker. Game changer. You start it first and its usually done by the time the rest is cooked.
@Elena-pq8yp2 жыл бұрын
My go-to dinner is just throwing together a nourish bowl with some sort of carb as a base (rice, bulgur, couscous, sweet potatoes) which you can easily prep beforehand or buy in a microwave/instant pack, a protein source (tofu, tempeh, chickpeas) either in the pan or airfryer and meanwhile roast some veggies in the oven (my fave is broccoli, pumpkin or brussels sprouts), and lastly top it off with a nice dressing (I love mixing tahini/peanut butter + soy sauce) or half an avocado for those healthy fats👌🏼 simple but healthy and delicious and I never get tired of it :) just switch up the ingredients

Yes, it was a lot of Creamer to some people, but it’s way less calories than a Starbucks coffee or Dutch bros or whenever you go! I rack up like 400-500 calorie drinks when I go out, but my at home coffee is like 150!

Hi Hayley! Just a tip for cooking teriyaki tofu.... after you deep-fried the tofu (coated with just an all-purpose flour), make a separate sauce for it BUT DO NOT MIX THEM TOGETHER. Mixing them will make the tofu soggy...and for me, you just wasted your time frying them. And, put toasted sesame seeds! That's all! Love from the Philippines ^___^
