Hey guys welcome back!
After many requests I thought I'd do another ' What i eat in the week' video!
As you know, I LOVE food. So get ready to see some super tasty grub including a eat at home kit from one of our favourite restaurants, Berenjak.
And one dish I cook that I'm particularly proud of - Maqluba!
Bash was away for work for the first couple of days but i kept myself busy! I went for a run and a coffee with my bestie Rosie, and I invited my family round for dinner which was lovely!

Hi Sarah, I loved this vlog! Your cooking is very enjoyable and calming to watch. You definitely have a lot of natural talent. I am originally Iranian, and I love that you enjoy Persian food. It definitely needs more recognition in the world, and I'm so glad you're sharing it with your followers. I've recently started doing a lot of home cooking for my family, and there's nothing more satisfying than making healthy and nutritious meals for loved ones. One of my favourite Persian dishes of all time is "Kashke Bademjan" (the eggplant dip). My mom's family are Turkish speakers from Iran, and we make this dish a little differently. We roast or deep fry the eggplants, then crush them and let them cook for a few hours with whey and diced garlic. We also make a Persian stew called "Ghiemeh" (beef and split peas stew) on the side, and we pour it on the "Kashke Bademjan" when we serve it, along with roasted walnuts, mint oil, fried garlic, and onions. It is definitely a lot of work, but it is worth it because it tastes soooo good.

What I love about your cooking videos, is that you cook with so much flavor and color! I see my family all the time we all live 5 minutes away from each other. My favorite food is my mom’s homemade fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. And when she makes spam rice and corn.( otherwise known as camp food). You should write a cookbook.

Aw I love this!! I use ‘Wusthof Gourmet’ knives! They are great, but my advise is always have a knife sharpener, no matter which ones you own!

I’ve been to Norway twice, and you’re right. The food isn’t amazing, besides smoked salmon, seared fish dishes, bread, and strawberries and cream over waffles. My friends say, it was a poor country, and it’s cold, so there wasn’t much, and no sliced. I love making lentils with or without meat, and I’ll use a different collection of spice. Indian or East African. Unless, you’re using dried fish, or something oily like mackerel, your fish should only smell like ocean water. 😱

@@sarahlysander I soak them in water and a bit of baking soda for a bit. Just before I cook them. Rinse, and into a pressure cooker. I don’t always do this, but the pressure cooker may help. By the way, I’m enjoying your content! I enjoy watching women do what they love. It’s very nice when they have a supportive partner. 👍🏾

She made jacket potatoes, Mac and cheese, chicken cutlets, ETC I loved her cooking but one thing I didn’t like was pulled pork sandwiches so chewy eeeeh!!!!!! 🤢🤢🤢 when mom made Mac and cheese, she’d split it in half and have a tomato half and a no tomato half only because I don’t like tomatoes. My step dad’s mom her cooking was so scrumptious!!!!!! Cream cheese chicken was one of my favs and orzo always asking for seconds 😋😋😋😋😋😋 she’s a ghost now so is mom. Mom got ran over by a train 😊😊😊😊😊😊 I just find that very funny. I have a strange sense of humour. One Christmas, like every Christmas we’d have lasagna but this one time no one was eating it and I was confused I still loved it. And I ate it. I was left at the table eating it. I could’ve ate everyone else’s but I’d be sick. 🤢 what else? Um, oh yeah, when mom and my step dad first met, we’d go up to his house for weekends. At the time for a 7 year old I didn’t like meatloaf. Only because I haven’t tasted it. I don’t like most things because I never tasted it. So, when Pete ( my stepdad) knew I didn’t like meatloaf. He played a teeny trick on me. You may not know but most people do when parents trick you into eating things. Pete cut the meatloaf into squares and called them squared meatballs. Even to this day I make myself squared meatballs. My parents tricked me into eating lots of things. I remember this one time, we had chicken cutlets but this one tasted strange it wasn’t really chicken at all it was fish. Fish cutlets? Have you ever heard of such a thing? One thing grandma made that I didn’t like was potato salad disgusting 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 you might like it. I’m a worse fussy eater than you. I’d love to try the skewers, and I wanna eat all the fish cakes at once!!! 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋 oooh, so let’s talk about the celebrations. I love bounty I just love coconut shavings. 😍😍😍😍😍 I had a coconut donut once. Mmmm coconut shavings are so good. 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋 I also like twix, mars bar mostly every chocolate in there except snickers. I don’t like stinky breath. Uh, 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 now I’m thinking about the peanut butter. So mom made me eat a spoonful of peanut butter, it was gross. Ewwww!!!! I hated it and I ran upstairs to brush my teeth to wash away the peanut butter breath. There was another time I bit into a banana I can’t they’re too sweet!!! I can’t eat a whole one cause it makes me gag. And the texture of the taste is just way too sweet and just ewww!!!! 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 I have a lot of good stories did I miss any? Um, okay this last one and we’ll move on to the next thing. When I have butterflies, it takes me ages to eat a corn on the cob. I lose my appetite and I eat slower. Have you tried salted cucumber or was that zucchini no cucumber it was definitely cucumber it’s the only way I’d eat it. Now the death rows. What would my meal be now? Hmmmm, a starter could be hallumi cheese, ahhh barbecued 😘 chefs kiss. For a main scampi and mushy peas and chips you have to have them at weatherspoons. ( sorry gluten intolerance we’re throwing you out the window) it’s worth it 😉 for desert um, a big rich chocolate cake!!!! Have you tried ice cream the way Dua likes it vanilla and olive oil to her it’s a chef’s kiss 😘 what was I gonna say yeah that’s it. My dad’s lasagna you have to Sarah. Put your gluten intolerance away and dig into lasagna. Another thing my dad makes I like is salmon and mashed potatoes. We have tender stem broccoli too. Lost my thought again. What was it? Mmmmm yup that’s it ravioli with a good pesto. It’s green and good. Dad said it’s spinach but spinach is disgusting I’ll never ever eat spinach. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 maybe I can talk about food for hours does this break the record of the longest comment? I know why, Bash used to drink Tequila on nights out. He doesn’t drink anymore. Sarah mentioned that in a talk about her and Bash’s relationship which is in the vlog after all the 2023 fashion vlogs. That vlog is one of my favs.
