I just found your channel a few days ago! Awesome to see a real nutritionist who doesn't lie about nutrition! Thank you so much! Your videos keep me more motivated than ever in my vegan lifestyle (almost 3 years now) as I am criticized in some ways to not eating animals. I live in France and when you don't eat our good french cheese, baguette, bourguignon beef, tartiflette (french-style cheesy potato bake with pickled onions, gherkins and charcuterie) and others typical french recipes full of cruelty, you're considered like evil and they tell you: " you'll get deficiencies"! But the people who say that are the same who take so many medications and strive to lose weight! Keep on going with good motivational contents! Peace!

I'm 47, mostly vegan, and a runner. That said, I still battle the "food baby" probably because I like beer and don't make the best food choices when I drink. I recently changed my diet to get more nutrient dense, clean foods and got on the wagon. I've seen a big improvement over the past month, but I've been concerned about getting enough calories. This video really helped with that.

Great video, really useful to see how you prepare the food. I've just watched the film "What the Health" on Netflix and decided to move over to a plant based diet which is a big change seeing as I've been a meat eater most of my life. Your channel was alongside the film and various discussions about it. I like the fact that you combine exercise with the diet and this have given me real motivation to change the diet. Last year I started weight training as my main exercise instead of team sports and obviously everyone goes on about protein but you've convinced me it's better to go plant than meat and powder! I'm looking forward to watching your channel more and picking up more tips, so great job and thanks!

@siwuz84 his physique is not average, neither is his athletic ability, or IQ. The average north american cannot do even one pullup, let alone a flag. The average north American is overweight or obese. Look around, not hard to see that. And if you think vegans are brainwashed, why are you even watching a vegan video? That's a rhetorical question, btw, I know you're a troll.
@NLR759
@NLR759 5 жыл бұрын
@siwuz84 People in Europe are not in much better shape, I have lived there, and they die from the same chronic lifestyle diseases as north Americans (heart disease, stroke, T2 diabetes, cancer). These are diseases of affluence, it has nothing to do with the country you live in. Europeans may have less obesity because their lifestyle is less car-oriented, and they walk more, and eat less fast food, that is all. And no one is saying Dereck is a demi-god. You are exaggerating, jealous maybe? ;) Put your life up on youtube, if you think you're so wonderful, and then you can deal with jerks making dumb comments.
@NLR759
@NLR759 5 жыл бұрын
@siwuz84 I don't actually believe you. It's just words. Post a video of yourself on your channel, then we will see the truth for ourselves. But one person does not really prove anything. Large muscles don't mean a person is healthy. Body builders actually have very high rates of death from heart attacks. Statistics show vegans live longer, and have far fewer chronic diseases. Also, a quick search, and I can see the statistics of top causes of mortality all around the world, and Europe is not much different than North America.

Food combinations look awesome. Looking Jacked most people would not know your a healthy Vegan. Workout in the yard looked great. Healthy Vegan here for 6 months and love it. Don't miss animal products and only lost a little weight which was good. Whole Variety Organic Foods is key. I eat 75% raw and the rest lightly cooked. Probably summertime it would be easier to go mainly raw for 3 months. Live in New England. As a former amateur bodybuilder Use to eat 6 daily eggs besides lots of animal protein. Those days are gone Forever. Feel better and joints and back feels better. Plus lightened up what I use to lift besides I'm much older than you.

Thanks for your health tips, is really helpful, and in return, let me share two, I hate to see people could get into these kind of health trap: microwave is bad for everyone, it could give people cancer, you can research about it and decide if you still wanna use it. 2nd, oil is actually good for our joints, it smoothes them, just dont consume too much, and it will be fine.

The smoothie felt like pure energy and I was only watching you drink it. yI'd like to make a vlog when I get going, as i've been through a lot and only now coming out of it. Veggie since I was 8 and found out where meat came from, vegan 7 years...but i'm an unhealthy vegan, don't even have one full meal most days, and have a huge gut (where I believe all my stress, anxiety and depression lives, or stems from). Hope i'm able to do a KZbin video...what are you using to keep camera steady? Hi! Not a Vegan or Vegetarian. I appreciate this video as I have often wondered about the protein and this explains it pretty good! That volume of calories (carbs or not) means you burn a lot.... you HAVE to burn a lot to be as lean as you are! So, a sedentary individual or one that maybe has less time to workout each day, this would be maybe too much? Definitely like your breakdowns and appreciate the knowledge.
@Simnettnutrition
@Simnettnutrition 7 жыл бұрын
If you aren't as active as me you would eat the same meals just smaller versions. I have a lot of lean muscle and muscle burns a lot of calories just to maintain itself which is the biggest reason why I have to eat a lot. The more muscle the more you need to eat to maintain it.

New subscriber and glad I found this channel. Where did you get the top for your mason jar that you were using at the park? I'm starting my Vegan journey and I may have more questions from time to time. Thanks for all the work you put into your channel.

Hey, i am on my first week of a vegan diet. loving it so far. But I have a question. I am in need of building some serious muscle weight as i am kinda lacking. I am 6' and 195 but I am lacking muscle mass. Do you think I should wait to fully implement a vegan diet until I reach my muscle goals or continue along and just keep working out. I am a little worried about how much protein I would need in order to build muscle in comparison to maintaining muscle mass. Thanks for the great video!

Amazing videos mate, I am vegan and currently studying nutrition (1st year), I saw the the video you made with you answering question people had and actually I did not find you eating unusual excessing at all. I only have one question as is not that clear to me, what is the minimum amount of protein that we need to consume to still build muscle ? Cheers.

Hey Just wrote a comment, but spell check messed it up. Acidic foods irritate and inflame delicate tissues starting at the tongue, going through the body and on the way out too!

Some of these ingredients could make a good use for young teenagers like myself who are trying to avoid a variety of dairy products.
