Recipe & Thoughts: This isn’t going to be the most amazing Mac ever but it’s for those days when you can’t be bothered to go to the grocery store. The texture is nice and it does get a little gloopy when it cools down so just eat it while it’s hot. - 1.5 cups pasta - 1.5 cups shredded cheese

@@dabadllama Cheeky wee industry secret - Pams Colby, Edam, and mild Cheddar are actually the same as Mainland. Fonterra (Mainland) make it then label them differently for the supermarket. Tasty, and anything aged are different though - hence a bigger price difference as they are made for each label differently
@dabadllama Жыл бұрын
@@ThomasA101 how can that be, they taste nothing alike and the texture is very different. Is it the worse cheese from there that is used for Pams or something?
@ThomasA101 Жыл бұрын
@@dabadllama The supermarkets buy the bulk cheese blocks (think 200kg blocks?) cut to size and put their own label on them. Shouldn't be any different than the Fonterra brands ones. Anything aged (tasty +vintage, premium cheeses) are done in house by the manufacturers, and so there are variations in those

Can also do just plain noodles with a little butter and sprinkle cheese (parmesan or whatever). Don't need to cook more than the noodles, don't need to save pasta water, the noodles are hot enough to melt butter right on your plate, and it's delicious. Even more if you add chicken salt.

Instead of water for smoothness you can use milk, yes it will be more dairy but it adds more flavor, same with a little bit of unsalted butter

Second video I saw of yours (the other one was "1-ingredient rice puffs (or something)") In both videos, your ingredient count is undershot. 1. Pasta 2. Cheese 3. Pasta Water (arguable) 4. Dill You claimed 2, I count 4, but you could pull 3 if you wanted.

That all being said, nice idea for budget meals. Really nice idea; looks good. Keep the videos coming. :)
