Moderation is great, but not if you need to loose weight especially as we age. You have to lose the weight first (keto worked for me to lose 65 lbs). Now I eat a healthy diet in moderation and have maintained my weight loss for 6 years.

You are clearly doing something right. You look amazing. Healthy, beautiful, energetic, and fit! My favorite snacks are the small peppers, seeded and filled with cottage cheese, sprinkled with everything bagel seasoning. Also cottage cheese blended with a scoop of PB Fit, and a few semi-sweet chocolate chips. Tastes like a Resees peanut butter cup blizzard. And a scoop of lemon collagen powder(vital proteins at costco) mixed into plain yogurt. High in protein and so refreshing.

Unfortunately, smart balance with olive oil also has very processed canola oils in it. There is no margarine that is super healthy at all. Best option is a sprinkle of quality olive oil or maybe a little bit of Quality Dijon mustard or hummus. There are some hummus brands out there that have only olive oil like SSS here in Australia. With a little little bit of googling you will find it. Thanks for your video. Love your arm workout video!

There is only one non-dairy alternative that I can recommend, it's called MELT. It's organic, Omega 3/6 balanced, cold pressed, soy, gluten and trans fat free. If memory serves, the tub is slightly different that the sticks, same ingredients but different proportions. Everything else has some major drawback. Not everyone will want the coconut oil, but if one needs to or chooses to avoid dairy and wants yummy, buttery flavor, I suggest they give it a try.

You look great, but be aware that eating within 3 hours of bedtime is not a good thing and can interfere with sleep quality and the brain dump your body needs to do every night during sleep. Also, this “snack” you are having would be much better consumed right after a meal to avoid a large sugar spike. Thanks very much for the air fryer tips for vegetables. I, too, am late to the air frying game and this sounds like a great, healthy way to roast vegetables and fish. Keep up the great work on staying healthy in your 70’s!!!

Way to go keeping away from artificial sugar. I’d rather have sugar than the fake stuff. I use a splash of organic apple juice in my 30oz to go cup of redman’s electrolyte powder, because I use the unflavored kind. I also use lemon in my water on occasion. I’m high protein with fruits and vegetables, a few dark chocolate treat options. A few snacks now and again. Chips, me too! Low carb, high protein works for me. 😊

How do you maintain your protein intake when you don't eat much meat? I love vegetables too but worry that if I don't eat enough protein I will lose muscle mass and feel more tired . Also my hair and nails will suffer if my protein intake is too low. Enjoyed this video. I'm a new subscriber so I need to catch up on your videos.

Great question, I wondered the same. I recently lost 30 lbs and did it solely by staying focused on high protein meals. I’m not much of a meat eater either so I keep protein powders and protein bars and drinks on hand. I learned as we age we need more and more protein because our muscles are loosing mass. I found that getting at least 30 grams of protein with each meal keeps me full longer and stops sugar cravings. I’m worried this gal doesn’t get the adequate amount of protein for her aging body.

I was wondering what your husband eats, does he eat what you eat or do you fix him something separate? Or maybe he cooks and fixes for himself. That is always my challenge, I would eat differently if I didn’t have hubby to cook for.

My husband and I do not eat the same things. So we generally each prepare our own food together in the kitchen and sometimes he will have a bit of whatever I am cooking and vis a versa.

I’m amazed at how much processed cereals and drinks you consume and almost no protein!

I consume a ton of protein in my Salmon, Tuna, Tofu, leafy green vegetable, Chicken, and Turkey. Not even counting the protein in my fortified cereals and milk and orange juice. I consume very little processed drinks. I add just enough V8 Splash to my water to give it flavor. Which is a very minimal amount. To me that is a better option than artificial sweeteners and since at my age it is even more important to keep hydrated at least this way I am drinking more water each day. I do realize that straight water would be the ideal.

@@lifeinmy70s well you said you use 1/2 the V8 to water so thats not a minimal amount. Cereals aren't fortified with protein they're fortified with B vits and iron - the things that have been taken out in the processing
