Hi Adam, I have been enjoying your videos from Wisconsin USA. Thank you very much for doing them. I'm very interested in feeds and nutrition for these beautiful birds. With such a nice diverse mix of seeds and Grains do you think it is still necessary to feed the supplemental minerals and vitamins? It would just seem to me with such a nice variety that they would have all the bases covered? What do you think?

Hi Calvin, even if all minerals and vitamins were provided through food, grit is still very important for its mechanical grinding properties in the birds gizzard. Pigeons can't stay healthy without access to grit 👍

Haven't fed our birds maize in years, and the only sort of pea they get is soya bean, fat is more essential than protein whilst in the nest and racing

Fat is fuel for racing, especially long distance. Protein is still definitely needed in the nest though, for fast growing bodies.

Where did you get that indigo hen from. Have you added some other breed in to your racers?

Indigo has always been in racing pigeons, just uncommon. I'm just improving them, crossing the colour into my best racing stock.

They're smaller than I'd recommend, it's just temporary until I move into a bigger block. They're 800x500x500.

Hey adam i havnt dewormed my pigeons im a while and ive recently found a roundworm in one of my pigeons feces, but alot of my pigeons have new little squabs, so my question is should i deworm them or wait till the squabs are older? And will the worms kill the squabs?, my pigeons seem to be in good health n condition tho.
