I have the same spare batteries for the camera and the remote. It will record video- it's a lifesaver! You just have to put it on remote control/10second setting through the photo part, and then it'll work for video too. You have a nice Aunt and Uncle- your fam must be very close! I love my MacBook pro- I got it in July and my parents paid for a small part of it as my birthday present. I switched from a PC so it's EVERYTHING! lol.
