Freddy, when I was around your age, I would frequently go with my friends to where the rides were. My mother was confused - I hadn't even liked rides as a kid! "Oh, I don't go on them - I'm the one who sits there piled with pocketbooks and jackets!" & anything else that could get dropped & broken, or go missing - or get soaked, as in your unfortunate situation! Maybe it's just a United States thing, of wanting everything to be so "extreme".

I had the same experience as your Six Flags thing at Universal earlier this year - we'd been on a ride that had a warning sign "you'll get wet" but it was only a little splash; this other ride had the same sign so we thought it'd be similar - NOPE! We and all of our stuff got absolutely drenched.
