I have three girls. Two of my youngest ones are on the spectrum. My oldest is not. One thing I definitely noticed is that my girls that are on the spectrum are very content in the simplest things as my oldest well she lives in the typical world lol. I also try to keep it very minimal for my girls on the spectrum as they can become overstimulated if consumed with too much gifts. It takes time for them to process the opening of a gift and enjoying that one gift. So for them I don’t go overboard and give them like 2-3 each. The third gift ends up being a shared gift as they are close in age. It amazes me how they are happy with the simple things in life and they aren’t exposed to the realities of the world of overconsumption. I love how innocent their minds are.

Yes, I try to keep things minimal too. And my little boy is only 1.5 so he doesn’t mind. It doesn’t take much to make them happy. We will probably start opening gifts early and save Christmas and Christmas Eve for when we visit family so it’s not too much.
