What I learned from 7 years of makeup 🌝🤌🏽 *w/ tips*

2016 vs 2023 makeup comparison and there is lots I learned!
𝘌𝘺𝘦𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘴 ~
Eyebrows have a natural way of 'flowing' considering how your hair grows and only add lines to fill in gaps.creating a thinner end helps to take some of the visual 'heaviness' away. Lifting up the outer half also gives you a lifted eye look.
𝘌𝘺𝘦𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘸 ~
Consider your eyelid space & create your look with your eyes open! Keep in mind if you want to bring your eyes out (light eyeshadow) or push them more in visually (dark eyeshadow) and create a balance.
𝘌𝘺𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳 ~
Create whatever liner you wish with OPEN eyes. Draw over your crease if you have hooded eyes and fill in the gap later. Use eyeshadow as a guide if you are unsure about the shape or position!
𝘓𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘴 ~
Again the topic of space is important big dramatic lashes are great but if they start drooping into your eyes/reach your brows they can make your eyes appear smaller. Also fucc mink lashes! Please. No furry friend has to d1e bc you want more hair on your eyes.
𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘳 ~
You don't need a lot. apply concealer to your hand then SOME on the brush and work in layers. Using an applicator puts too much product on your skin and you will need to spread it out more.
𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 ~
Find the right undertone! I used to look grey or orange before I figured out that I am a yellow undertone with a green tint so I only wear warm golden and neutral foundations.
𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘳 ~
If a highligher leaves a white/grey cast on your skin it's not the highlighter for you.
𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘶𝘳 ~
Contour is NOT suppose to be 5 shades darker than you. It’s hard to blend and will look muddy in the end + you will need more foundation and concealer to fix. Try your shade but 1-2 shades darker with a cool undertone.
𝘓𝘪𝘱𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘬 ~
Consider your skins undertone! If lipstick looks grey or cold on you it's too cold of a tone. Also it helps to take black and white images of lipstick swatches on your hand if you are in the store so you can see which shade is actually lighter or darker than you.

I think both looks were/are on trend for the time. The full glam on the left has its time and place, and the one on the right (in my opinion) is a more timeless (albeit party) look. You look great in both and you’re genetically gifted, you’re so beautiful!

@@KDjerI think you can definitely just wear whatever you want in university because people rarely ever care what other people look like when everyone’s just trying to survive the semester 😭 I’ve personally seen a lot of people wear really outlandish stuff or their literal pyjamas to classes and never seen any of them get judged or get in trouble.

​​@@KDjer cheekbones, nose, around they eyes, lips 💁🏼‍♀️ (even glitter mist for hair and sparkly body lotion) for uni anywhere that you'd put highlight just replace it with glitter 🥳 don't use cheap craft glitter though

You can start with some glittery eyeliner, or simple duochrome eyeshadow while keeping the rest of the make up pretty simple, you can also try some glittery gloss in muted colors

I swear everybody back then had no idea what their contour shade was. It was always either too dark or too light lmao. But I loved the eyeshadow looks though. Not ideal for everyday, but ppl should totally start bringing the 2015 dramatic glitter cut crease eyeshadow trends back

Your now version is how I’m trying to my make up! I have a heart shape face with a very strong jaw and high cheek bones- I just now I should be contouring but I have no idea how lol and I only like light weight products that are like with nutritious ingredients.

I’d say I’d like to marry some of the two, while most of the techniques I’m loving are the current ones, such as skin tints or light to buildable coverage foundations, a minimal brow routine that ends up looking natural as you said, when it comes to concealer it just depends on how I feel in the moment because concealer can double up as a skin tint or foundation so it just depends, with eyeshadow these days I just prefer whatever is glittery and with rhinestones and whatever I can use with just my fingers because I hate using makeup brushes in general, I’m the same when it comes to blush I love liquids and creams because again I can use my fingers to blend and it looks more natural, I’m not a contour girl but I’d like to give it a try if I can find a formula that I can blend out with my fingers and looks natural, with highlighter I agree I don’t want to look metallic but for fun and creative looks I do like glittery highlighters but for every I usually prefer looking glowy and dewy, I don’t use face powder at all lol so I prefer the new method, also no liquid winged eyeliner for me because I can’t do it lol, when it comes to lips I’m usually a lip gloss girl because of how moisturizing lip glosses are today but I wouldn’t mind trying something new like a lip stain if you have any recommendations I’d love to hear them!!!! I think also the second eyeversion takes a lot more skills for blending and good tools and steady hand so thats why people do the first version because it's pretty easy to learn. Blending is very difficult for most people. And dragging pencils do not work for most eyeskin past 35 because it just pulls it and skips and theres no clean lines. I don't think I could learn to do your eye makeup well even with a full tutorial, definitely have no real clue how you did it from this short of a video.

Its pretty easy to get away with less makeup when your skin is literally perfect. I have bumps and acne, rosacea, yellow and green discoloration and visible veins none of which look any better if I slap a bunch of shine on them.
