Well if weighing the front wasn't an issue, Spank do make 25mm stem, that'll both raise and move back the control points.

I have my eye on a used 2015 Santa Cruz V10, in XL. Of course, the V10 is and remains a downhill race bike, but it's pretty amusing how the geo of that bike almost exactly matches the geo of a current-gen FRS in medium.

@@PeterJamison Yeah, fortunately Santa Cruz keeps all their geo charts and such in their bike archive. Actually, from your perspective, the XL's reach of 450 might be right in your sweet spot, not that you're in the market for a new downhill bike right now, lol.

Thanks for detailed description of suspension setup. Please also comment on differences between linkage systems on frs and tues, i.e. linkage driven single pivot vs. 4-bar. Thank you
@PeterJamison
@PeterJamison 3 ай бұрын
While yes, the Tues is a horst link and the FRS is a linkage driven single pivot, both bikes have a ridiculously similar kinematic ride feel largely due to the fact that they have almost an identical leverage ratio (from what people have found through Linkage X3). That said, unlike with other bikes where I have been able to notice changes in Anti-squat/anti rise, with the FRS/Tues those two charachteics don't jump out on the trail. Lastly, the difference in frame material massively changes the ride feel although the suspension layouts are very similar. Hope this helps✌🏼

@PeterJamison
@PeterJamison 3 ай бұрын
I think with a higher rise handlebar I could likely do most of my tricks on this medium FRS, but it may be a bit challenging. For being a just over 6ft, a 470 reach bike should not be too big for you, I would just experiment with your cockpit setup until you get to a point where you are confident 🤘🏼
