Ok, this is freaking awesome. I just learned a Social Media Managing course in Portugal is using this video as a teaching tool and they love it. I mean.. I make guides, but I never expected it to be used in an actual classroom. I cannot express how freaking cool this is to me. Hey Muk! Just wanted to say that your "why play guild war 2" video was actually the reason why I started playing. I am currently 2 months into the game and the content plus the community is more than I ever asked for in a video game! Thank you for making that video :D

Now when people ask about streaming advice Muk can be like "I got a guild for that" XD. In all seriousness tho, congrats man. You earned it.

I first followed you at around April 2019. You had around an average of 30 viewers or so. Now, it's almost April 2021 and you have an average of 300-400 viewers.. Your channel grew up so fast :')

Congratulations! I personally have no interest in ever becoming a streamer, but it was great listening to the process behind it. You have created a great community, I love the fact that it's PG (honestly, sometimes the jokes are even more creative this way), and you do (!) play a part in this great game getting more exposure. Thank you for everything Muk :)

I first found this channel on KZbin mid 2020 when I was looking up guides for gw2. I had been playing for a while, but was still learning new things about the game. Only a handful of seconds in, I had tears of laughter raining from my face and a new appreciation for my first mmorpg game. In return, Muk gained another fan. I followed him on Twitch, and have been enjoying his streams ever since.

For a long time I was only a youtube viewer and watched your content because you seem like a guy who had fun playing. Instead of having your vids on loop, I decided to join your stream even when I don't like the stream content at all. "If you want to do it seriously, you have to take it seriously" That is the biggest takeaway. In 2016 or 2017 I had this brilliant idea to record myself playing and talking, and always posting on KZbin. I had no idea how much more time it would require per submission, between making thumbnails, editing rough parts out, interacting with the community and stuff like that. I still want to go back to it, but not before I sort some things in my life. The pandemic did not help either, unfortunately. When I do go back to a content creator life, I'll rewatch this video for more tips and insight.

I don't stream or do youtube, and I never plan on working in any form of entertainment, but I have watched this video so many times. It's a really inspiring story how you were able to find yourself a footing on twitch and youtube all by yourself and all the problems you have overcome over the years, I really wanna be like that someday but maybe in a different profession. Also the fact that you were already married and had a kid when it happened. I always thought I had to find a job and stable income before getting married and after marriage that'd be it, same job for the rest of my life, won't have the time to start or risk starting something new. But I'm not so sure anymore, feels like there's more time now to get my life together.

I can't promise anyone I won't slip up, but I've worked on it. It's hard cause sometimes it's so natural I don't even know I've sworn until later. Thank you for this touchstone to go back to, to compare what I've tried and what I haven't. I'm not gonna make a "Why you should play GW2 in 2023, but I have an inkling of an idea for something I can make RSENAL-esque I can do that's both clickbaity, self-promotional, and GW2 promotional all at once, it's just gonna take awhile to get it together. I wanted to do this until I found out how much work it was. I thought it would be easy to sit and play video games all day but yeah like you said the work days are long and taking breaks is dangerous as you could lose people. I already work a ton at my normal engineering job at 50 to 70 hours a week depending on what's going on and I do enjoy most of what I do, but I have always liked playing video games in my free time and making money doing it would be cool. I also used to make videos about video games on youtube when the platform was really new but never really stuck with it as I focused on school and work more. Right now I make plenty of money so if I switch to content creation I would probably make less money with a job that is less secure so yeah... unfortunately its probably not going to happen for me anymore. Good on you for being successful at this and being happy. A lot of people are not happy with what they do and I urge people to look for something they enjoy. Not every day will be fun but as long as people genuinely enjoy their work then the bad days are not quite as bad and the good days are awesome!

Thanks, Muk. Gleam didn't seem to do much for more me, as once I disqualified the obvious bargain hunters, there was no one left. Might be some more potential there, haven't quite cracked it. I put off streaming to focus on making the best videos possible, but now I see how having those consistent broadcasts with a specific schedule to point to could make those calls to action so much more powerful.

It also helped that part of my gleam giveaway was retweeting a tweet that advertised "why play this game" and that got more people into the game that needed my guides etc etc snowball. But yeah I definately gave a few prizes out to people I never saw again, it happens.
