**What I Learned This Year** Hi everyone! My name is Angel. I’m 25 years old. Today, I want to share the lessons I’ve learned this year and how they changed me. At the start of the year, I felt lost. I had many dreams but didn’t know where to begin. I even doubted myself. Then, I made a promise: take small steps to become better. The first lesson I learned is to face my fears. I was scared of speaking English in front of others. I got so nervous that I couldn’t say a proper sentence. This year, I joined a conversation club and practiced daily. At first, I made mistakes and felt embarrassed. But I kept going and told myself: “Mistakes are part of learning.” Over time, I gained confidence and even made new friends. Now, I’m no longer afraid. The second lesson is to learn to let go. I used to hold onto anger. A close friend hurt me, and I couldn’t forgive her. It felt like a heavy weight on my shoulders. One day, I realized this wasn’t helping me. I reached out to her, and we talked. Things aren’t the same, but I feel free now. Forgiveness isn’t for others-it’s for yourself. The third lesson is to build strong relationships. This year, I spent more time with family and friends. We cooked, talked, and shared happy moments. I learned that love, trust, and respect build strong relationships. Small gestures like saying “thank you” or “I’m sorry” can make a big difference. I feel grateful for the people who support me. The fourth lesson is to find beauty in small things. I started keeping a gratitude journal. Each day, I wrote three things I was thankful for. At first, it felt strange, but soon I noticed small joys: a smile from a stranger, the sound of rain, or a warm cup of tea. These moments made my life richer. This year wasn’t perfect. I felt stuck and wanted to give up at times. But every challenge taught me something new. Life isn’t about being perfect, it’s about growing and learning every day. If you’re struggling, remember: you’re not alone. Be patient and kind to yourself. You’re doing better than you think.
