Maybe it was because of Jake too? Not sure but, to me, it seems like Drew actually has something to fight for in the Drailey scene. I think Drew's getting impatient with the situation of Jake being friends with the people they bullied, so he's trying to break their friendship apart by putting Hailey down in that arguement, considering the fact that Drew really cares about Jake as his friend, he's probably getting jealous. Goes to show how precious their frienship is to Drew.

Honestly I think Drew is being kind of selfish here, Jake can have more friends if he wants, also I have to mention that Hailey is right: Drew is toxic and he doesn't let Jake follow his dream to be a singer because for Drew anything related to music is something to be taken as something stupid, so I don't think Drew really cares about Jake, because if he really was a good friend he should let Jake follow his dreams and let Jake sing in public which is something Jake always wanted (I think) :/

So- I can sorta see how these could lead to new ships but in both fights, the only reason drew stops fighting/arguing is cause jake. And you know if Liam or Henry joined a club and stoped hanging out with drew and jake, drew wouldnt care too much, bye when jake leaves he overreacts and gets scared about jake leaving him sense their closer as friends. But here’s where the ship comes in, in ep 5 when Henry teases about drew missing jake drew blushing and tries to brush it off. And in the fight in ep 8 drew fights over jake with hailey as if she was seriously take jake from him forever which we all know drew would be depressed forever without jake so he can’t let him go. Also another theory is drew always knew jake could sing, and didn’t care that he did, BUT he knew if jake joined a music club or sang again, both of them would get teased and bullied so drew didn’t take the chance of jake getting hurt so he pretended to hate the music club cause he knew jake would attempt to join which would lead to jake leaving him and chanced if jake getting hurt. I don't think he would be depressed if Jake left. In the scenes where you see Hailey being younger, you can see Drew with completely different people, no traces of Henry, Jake and Liam. I think Drew is the type of person, like Zoey (you see her with Lia and other girls), that doesn't mind much when people leave them. If Jake left him, he'd feel rather betrayed. Depressed is a big word, the guys he was with when he was younger either left Drew or got abandoned by Drew, and I don't think Drew felt depressed by losing those guys. Drew seems to care about Jake, yes, but not to the point he'd cry all night because of losing him, he'd feel bad, but not to that point.

If you watch the end of episode 7 where Rozy advertises her plushes you can notice that Drew is yelling at Jake's plush basically saying 'why he has to hang out with those freaks if he likes singing so much' indicating he doesn't care Jake can sing but just doesn't want him hanging around the music club. I also think he doesn't want to let Jake go. His mentality is like he's confused why Jake wants to hang around freaks like them when Drew is hella wealthy. Im not good at wording things so sorry if this doesn't make sense

Yes, agree with you! He has a lot of secrets that probably lead to why he acts the way he does and shows a lot of animosity towards the music club! I feel like he's been through a lot, he might be feeling alone without Jake. I feel like when Jake joined the music club I think Drew felt neglected by him. And with Jake being in rehearsals more often it possibly led Drew into jealousy. And to point out Jake doesn't bully the "music freaks" anymore. I've noticed that when Drew is starting arguments with one of the members, Jake doesn't really pick a side, he doesn't even try to stick up for either of them which perhaps makes Drew confused on who's side Jake's on.

Hailey broke Drew's mask. She told a truth that Drew's trying to hide. He picks on others, put others down, to make himself feel better. Hailey pointed that out, the fact that Drew is insecure, look at his eyes, he's basically saying "you think you have the right to say that?" (1:38 in ur video). That broke Drew's mask. 1:47, Drew actually huffs, probably thinking something like "the AUDACITY". Hailey attacked Drew with that truth so Drew attacked back instead of defending himself, there's his friends watching him, he can't let them know Hailey's right by getting defensive, I don't think he had time to think about this detail though. Things got heated with Drew and Hailey simply because Zander barked but didn't bite. In Drew's and Zander's fight, Drew was having FUN, he was making fun of Zander with his friends because Zander reacted in a way you can make fun of. Zander only talked about how Drew spends his dad's money, but that does not touch Drew. Drew is open about spending his parents' money, so he doesn't bother try to hide it. With Hailey, Hailey found Drew's weakness, she pushed the right button to make Drew show his real face. If you look at his eyes (during all the fight), you can see hatred, anger, frustration (reminds me of my mom, she's a Scorpio too..), while with Zander, you can see Drew's enjoying himself. Jake stopped the fight between the two, Hails and Drew, asking the Jomies to leave. THERE. AT THAT MOMENT. You see Drew realizing something. Just like in the episode 8, 20:07 in the real video, Drew realises Jake cares about Hailey and rolls his eyes. 2:07, in your video, his eyes widens, finally putting the pieces together, realising that Jake prefers HAILEY over him. His voice is shaky, (the moment he says "FINE, whatever, have fun with little miss uptight", 2:13 ), it shows he's sick of it, he was about to crack, he was about to really get serious. If Jake didn't stop them, they could've gotten physical, Hailey and Drew. Drew could've pushed Hailey or something, making the fight uncontrollable and even more heated. In Zander's fight, Drew is not acting this way, he still has his mask, and this jerk act of his. He's not hurt, he's not feeling attacked or in danger. If he reacted that way with Hailey, it's because he felt in danger. 1:37 in your video, look at Drew's change of glare, his eyes immediately narrowing, proving he's more on his guard now. Do you understand the differences now? I don't think it had anything to do with not finding good comebacks but has a thing to do with Drew's weakness, that weakness Hailey realised and took advantage of in that fight. That weakness that allowed Hailey to broke Drew's mask. HOPE YOU READ EVERYTHING EVEN THOUGH IT'S LONG BECAUSE DAMN, I took my time writing this...

I just think that Drew doesn't want to lose his friend. Like Drew could've been a loner back in middle school or could've had a bunch of fake friends back then till Jake showed up in his life and became his real friend. Drew does have a toxic girlfriend and I'm sure he knows or somewhat knows what Zoey's true intentions really are so having Jake around is kind of like comfort to him since he's someone Drew knows he can rely on since he's not in it for the money. He was fine with Jake joining the band competition but only because Jake was doing it for Daisy and 'nothing else'. But when he noticed that Jake had started getting along with the music freaks very well I guess he sort of grew even more aggressive towards them and became a little more protective of Jake because he didn't want to let him go. That or it's another ship lmao

Very good points! When you think about it, it maybe also due to the different circumstances. When Drew bugs the group in the hall, it's more of him just poking at their club, making fun of them, but with Hailey, in his mind it's not that big of a deal that they're in the music room and more importantly, she's keeping them from seeing Jake, which makes him annoyed. Therefore, he takes one argument more seriously than the other.

All I know is I feel so bad for Jake in both of these situations. It wasn’t right for Hailey or Drew to force him to choose between them, which they both tried to do. Jake has to keep up the persona he’s had with his friends for years in order to keep them happy, but he also has to keep up the character he’s built for himself in the music club to keep *them* happy. And he *also* has to think about himself, what he actually feels is the right thing to do.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought Drew's behavior was really weird as a lot of people in this comment section seem to think something similar. Unless there's going to be some kind of Drew backstory dump, there really is no explanation given for why Drew is so weirdly attached to and controlling over Jake. If you look at his other two friends Henry and Liam, they aren't even *half* the amount of angry Drew is when Jake starts hanging out with members of the music club, specifically Hailey. You could argue it's because they're moreso meant to be comic relief characters, but even in the moments when they get real, they are never as intense as Drew, making his behavior stick out like a sore thumb. I think something notable about this theory is how in the scene with Zander, Drew only made weirded out faces at Zander and laughed. He seemed to back away not because he was scared, but seemingly bored. In that scene, I don't think he perceived Zander as a very large threat both in terms of he'd bullied Zander for years, but also because Zander aside from being part of the music club didn't pose a huge threat to Drew and Jake's relationship. Hailey on the other hand was the girl constantly pulling Jake out to do the duet with her and basically the backbone of the music club. Not to mention that Drew and his other friends are under the impression that Jake has a crush on her as well. When you think about it like that, it becomes more clear why Drew may see Hailey as more dangerous in the way that she could easily drive a wedge between him and Jake. That's likely why it took a lot less provoking for him to go all out on her in anger, whereas with Zander, it just seemed like he didn't really care as much. Whether this is because he really has romantic feelings for Jake or not, it shows how important Jake is to him. I don't really think the show will go down that route because Drew has never shown jealousy of Jake's romantic interests before and has actually encouraged him to pursue some of them, playfully teasing him about them. I will say though, the show's overall tone has changed A LOT since the beginning of the series and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if throughout the remaining duration of the show they do decide to tweak the narrative or change the direction they're going. It obviously wouldn't be a healthy relationship, but Drew having romantic feelings for Jake would give some kind of explanation for why he's so weirdly possessive over him moreso than any of Jake's other friends, especially so around the girl he thinks Jake likes. Honestly, in my opinion until we're given a reason that explanation is as good as any other.

if you noticed, in the scenes when they are kids, we see drew with a guy we dont know, he has brown hair and green eyes. He was always with him. maybe that has something to do with that. Also i noticed in the minute 14 (song) we can see a scene where hailey is with a girl being "bullied" by zoey and another girl. well, the other girl who is bullied is EXTREMELY similar to Lia. Zoey is not with lia in that moment, she is with a brown haired girl (i think). In the fight with Hailey and Lia, Hailey says that Lia acts that way to pleasure others, like she new her. we know Lia was in middle school with them, because she says she remembers when Hailey ran away. WHAT HAPPENED

Also if you go to the end of one of the latest episodes. Where rosy is promoting merch, you can see Drew is yelling at the Jake plushy saying "When are you gonna start hanging out with me again, you barely have time for me. You like to sing? Then I'll buy you a karaoke machine." Something along those lines and it's adorable. Drew just misses Jake, You don't realize it till you stop and focus. But Jake is like Drew's emotional support beam. You can see how rocky he gets the more Jake is away from him.

Between episodes 5 and 8 there have been a lot of changes, specifically relationship wise. Jake and the Music Club have gotten extrememly close at this point and Drew obviously can tell and doesn't like it. In ep.5, Drew is just taking the piss out of Zander because he finds it fun and he knows that Jake probably wont do much about it because Jake isnt as close with the Music Club (or at least thats probably what Drew thinks). But now in ep.8 he's probably more aware at how close they are getting (for example, Millie taking Jake away from 'da boyz' repetitvely) and how much closer Jake and Hailey have gotten and Drew is probably jealous because Jailey have only been friends for like a month and have suddenly gotten so close to the point that Jake is constantly leaving him for the club. Drew had probably been tolerating the MC just for Jake's sake, but now that Hailey has gone and attacked his precious ego, he obviously had to bite back. When Jake stopped the fight and told Drew and the gang to leave. You can see the realisation in Drew's eyes as he realises just how close Jake had gotten with the MC and just how far he has drifted from Drew as their friendship slowly begins starts to crack. Drew obviously cares about Jake, but I think that in future episodes they really need to fix their friendship, but the only way I think that it's going to happen is if Jake finally stands up for the MC in a serious way (like yelling and a fight would probably happen) and if Drew really cares for Jake, then he would try and fix things with Jake and the MC, so their whole friendship will probably be determined on how much Drew cares and how much he's willing to sacrifice (like his reputation) for Jake

Damn, ya’ll are going really deep into this. But I agree with this comment section. When Drew and Zander were arguing it was really just poking at the music club as a whole, Zander stood up for them since its to take into consideration that they have been getting bullied by them. Why Drew and Hailey were fighting there was a lot of tension and stress that had been built up for this. Jake had been hanging out with the music club more and more. Drew was probaly getting jealous and is pretty attached to Jake since he’s always the one trying to contact Jake more than Liam and Henry. Hailey has stage fright and been thinking a lot about what Lia said about Daisy and such. Hailey was very stressed and Drew was jealous which could’ve led to them to using personal attacks on eachother. Haile brought up that Drew was bullying because he was insecure, this was caused from the amount of stress and angst she had which she couldn’t keep for much longer i’m assuming. Drew is attached to Jake and just wants him to stop from hanging out in the music clubs from jealousy. Basically, in both parties they had a lot of emotions that were showing on the surface here. In summary: i’d say the Zander and Drew fight was more of the typical bullying that was pretty common. The Hailey and Drew fight was caused from emotions that were surfacing

I literly cried watching that scene.. peaople are so stereotypical hating him but i relate to his charecter.. I was taught to always hide how i feel. Never be myself. Best money can buy was what i was taught. So i bullied people. Treated them how my parents treated me. But deap down i was broken. Screaming for help. And one time something like this happened to me and they called me out and i literally collapsed. I couldn't stop crying. They all left me. They had every right to but.. i didnt understand. I was only in 7th grade so. I thought people would automatically understand me if i cried to them.. i didnt realize the damage i had caused. I love Drew so much because the "f-fine." Proves were one in the same.

so i disagree, because i actually think the opposite, drew takes HAILEY more seriously because hailey pointed out how he “reeks of insecurity” which you can see, drew changes his expression and looks a bit more angry as hailey says that (1:37). what i also think is that drew is jealous because he never sees jake anymore, he feels like he’s getting replaced by the music club. you can tell that he really cares about jake, and HE wants to be the one spending time with him, and he thinks hailey is taking away from that, (which from drew’s perspective she is), and when jake splits them up and asks drew to leave, drew’s expression changes again, except this time his eyes widen and he looks like he’s about to cry (2:06), as well as his voice breaking a little and shaking when he says “fine. whatever.” drew feels THREATENED by hailey, because he doesn’t want to lose jake to her. this opposed to drew and zanders argument isn’t really comparable, because it’s not even necessarily an argument, it’s mostly just drew making fun of zander and zander defending himself by insulting drew, and drew isn’t very effected by what he said because it’s not very significant to him at all, he’s just having a bit of fun, but this time, in the hailey fight, drew is actually threatened and scared by what hailey said, especially since this argument is ABOUT JAKE, who is someone both drew AND hailey care about, they’re basically fighting over him, trying to prove themselves if you get what i mean.. PLSS THATS SO LONG but it’s just my theory and what i think :) anyone feel free to reply i wanna see everyone else’s theories as well :)

You all may be angry at me for this, but I think Hailey is the one trying to get Jake away from Drew. Drew become friends with him way long ago, and Hailey walked in and simply took Jake. But, if you realize in episode one. Daisy is the main reason Drew and Hailey fought for Jake anyway. I know Jake joined the club for singing as well and that's the main reason, but the reason he actually joined the club in the first place is because he wants to impress Daisy. If you take it way back, Jake started the fight too. He shouldn't be too in love about Daisy that he would join a club for her. Now he has 2 group of friends against each other. I feel like when it's near the end, he is gonna have to choose between Drew or Hailey. If he chooses the music club, I'm gonna be very disappointed. If he comes with Drew, I'll be disappointed but not as much. Why? Drew was the first one to be friends with him anyway. And he neglects his friends (Drew Liam Henry) for Daisy. Not for the club.

Drew tends to pick on Hailey more than Zander and it was shown in the season finale, I personally feel it’s because Hailey seems a lot more vulnerable as well as she’s closer to jake. Zander on the other hand is less open and more of a wild card, he’s very protective of the music club Hailey especially so I feel that drew is a little more cautious of what he says in front of Zander because he doesn’t know what exactly he’s capable of as for Hailey tends to rely on other people to defend herself (I don’t know if that made sense, lol)

Something I've noticed in the back that Henry and Liam high fived(1:27 to 1:29). Which I think is pretty suspicious so maybe the whole point of them going in the music room was to damage their instruments for the competition. It's kind of hard to explain y'know? But I think what Drew's big problem with Jake being in the club. Is the fact that he thinks they're using him. I mean he even said it to Jake "You seriously believe that?Just open your eyes already, Jake." As we all know, Drew starts off by saying this to Jake. Which was my first sign that he may or may not think they're using him. "Hailey can't sing by herself. So she needs you to." He assume. Once I learnt that we only feel offended with what we think it's true. Drew knows he's using his dad's credit card to buy everything Zoey wants, and he seemed upset about it (eps 5 and 6). In Hailey's case, Drew doesn't like Hailey because he thinks she's manipulative, remember? So anything that comes out of her mouth would be nonsense to him. And he is not really "scared" of Hailey, so it's easy to knock her down. You can see that Hailey already lost her arguments when Drew pointed out people only care about Jake, and not the club itself. She also felt offended because she knows deep down it is true.

No, I think Drew is more willing to argue with the club members as he sees Jake growing more and more distant to him and their group. Notice how in the first argument, Jake leaves WITH them, while in the second argument, Jake tells them to leave without him. This just shows that at this point in time, Jake is a lot closer to the music club than his old friends, and Drew is clearly upset about that, therefore more willing to argue with the club.
