I agree about Chain Gang. The jumping around kept taking me out of the story. I preferred the main plot as well. Very interesting book.

I also read Chain-Gang All-Stars in March! It was interesting to hear your thoughts and I can totally see where you’re coming from. It took me a bit to get into it but once I was into it, I loved it! Definitely an intense and eye-opening one!

Hi Alice! I'm SO EXCITED!! I just ordered Emily Wildes Otherlands! The exact same copy you showed, which I wanted because the cover is SO MUCH NICER than the one here in the states. I ordered from Water stones (clicked on your link) this time it went through!!😄😁 Last time I couldn't find it and you were so kind to give me the ISBN; but couldn't get it here.The shipping was outrageous, but I will save it for my birthday (May) as my gift to myself. I was so-so on Chain Gang. As an American who finds our prison system absolutely appalling, racist, and disgusting, I get what CGAS is trying to do -- and bless this author for doing it. The violence was hard for me, and the constant dread I felt while reading it was exhausting. I'm glad it's getting a bigger audience, but it was so hard for me to stomach.
