How you spend your money is deeply personal. What is frivolous to one is a necessity to another. My thought is as long as you have an emergency fund and are not going into debt to fund your lifestyle have fun! ❤️

Hi Alexis, I'm a new subscriber and I just want to say as a 22 year old who's struggling to graduate college, you're such a role model for me financially and lifestyle-wise. I hope I'm half as healthy and happy as you are when I'm 25.

Totally agree on people giving unnecessary opinions on womens financial decisions! I'm 17 and work a minimum-wage job, but I save like 80% of it. The one time I decided to get a really nice purse, so many ppl said my parents paid for it or that I wasted my money, but I loved it and literally use it every day.
@elisebahk3052 жыл бұрын
Everyone always says that!!!!! "What you spend on rent each month can get you a big house in the middle of nowhere." But, that's the point, it wouldn't be in New York. And those are the same people that then spend thousands of dollars to come vacation here. To each their own. Thank you for sharing!

Really wild that I feel like I live similarly in Berlin, but that's about my monthly expenses! Pay is a lot lower here than in NYC though so might even out in the end. :D

These are some of my favorite kinds of videos and you really did it justice! I’ve recently found your channel through some of your more finance and KZbin tip related content (likely because I’m a smaller creator in the finance space) and I’ve really enjoyed all the content you’ve been putting out lately. Thanks for being transparent about all this and keeping it realistic!

Not like it really matters but I think you're managing your finances really well! I never earned an American salary or paid NYC rent but I definitely used to spend a lot more on eating out and groceries in general back when I was renting. I'm happy for you and really enjoy your videos of your life in NYC!
@katetsirkunov2 жыл бұрын
Life in NYC is kind of expensive as I see. But you're really doing great with 2 jobs and KZbin, not many 25-years-olds are like you. I finished university only at 23 and then started living alone, so I see you girl, it's hard and many people would underestimate you, but who cares about them!
@creatingmygarden2 жыл бұрын
Hi Alexis actually I thought it would be more expensive so I think you are managing very well. Lets face it we only have one life to live if we can do some of the things we enjoy and keep a roof over our heads and food on the table then that's what counts. Anything else is a bonus!

Good for you. I found this very interesting. I watch Cash Jordan so this puts those rent prices into perspective with everyday life. I can't imagine paying NYC prices, but I have always lived a rural/suburban life. I think it's fantastic that those who want the lifestyle are able to do it.

Just found your channel and this video was amazing. I recently have started tracking everything single thing I have purchased and it is truly shocking if you break it down like this! So cool to see where someone else spends their money since we have a very similar lifestyle (age 25, tech job 9-5 mon-fri, second job income) and living just outside of Toronto where everything is also extremely expensive

Such a good video. It sounds crazy once you look at the final amount but also that’s reality, right! Stuff is expensive and you hardly spent much in the week. Once you add all the other stuff like rent and utilities it just sounds a lot. I really have to do that for myself. I am in London and that’s not cheap either and all those coffees and pain aux raisins, the gym classes (thanks for a membership where you can take as many as you like) it adds up. This is not extravagant, it’s life and going out adds more to it but that’s okay cause that’s the fun part😀 thanks for making me think about it.

My daughter is in LA and I'm pretty sure her rent is more than my mortgage but like you, she's able to afford her lifestyle so that's all that matters.

My view on the negative mindset of what a girl shows what they spend in a day comes back to generations ago when women weren’t allowed to have property or control the money and the only time they got money is when daddy or their husband gave the money to spend and sadly a lot still view the world that way. But this is 2022, nobody should ever tell you no matter who you are what you can, and cannot spend your money on only you your self can do that

I always like to learn new things, thst is why I watched this video. If, and if the time comes that eating out is a deal breaker, but you still want fresh air and outdoors experience, then I would suggest for the night before to make your meals, whatever your heart desires including drinks and I mean fancy drinks. You could have a gourmet dinner with all the bells and whistles at a fraction of the price. Of course it won't be fresh out of the oven, but at least you will have something different to eat out and not break the bank. Other than that. I'm proud of you.

Thank you. I rarely "eat out" (big expense.) I cook everyday and make my own coffee 90% of the time, so my spending is very different. To each his own. Live your life
