This week, I wanted to do a what i spend in a week as a single 26-year-old. Except, this is actually what I spent on vacation to go on a cruise to the Bahamas. My mom and I took a Carnival Cruise to Nassau Bahamas and this is how much we spent. I'm going to tell you exactly how much it actually costs to travel in 2022 with flights, cruise ship room with a balcony and hotel rooms. Technically, this could be a what I spend in a month or what I spend in a few months due to prepping for vacation and budgeting for vacation with purchasing the vacation months in advance! Cruises are the absolute best. They're actually cheap. Like really cheap because it's all inclusive. If you don't get a balcony room, get a cabin room & just eat the free stuff you could easily only spend 500$. Hey if I could spend 5 grand I would too! Just letting people know if they don't it actually can be pretty cheap!!! ♥️

Sweetie, that’s not a lot of money for the memories you made with your mama. In the future, when you look back, you’re going to be so happy that you were able to do it with her. I miss my mama very much. She passed away in 2006. If you can afford it, make those memories, no guilt or apologies. You’ll be glad you did. Love you miss Brooke!

A cruise vacation with your mom is worth it. Prior to my mother passing away, she wanted to go a European riverboat cruise with me however with 2020 that never happened. Time spent making memories with your mom is just priceless! ❤️

That is absolutely awesome as the prices right now to go anywhere are so high. I'm so happy you and your mom had the experience. We live in VA and annually go to the Outer Banks in NC, we drive my diesel truck as we bring our Lab's with us and renting a big house on the beach in July costed us about $20K+, we book when we leave for the next year and pay monthly. Only big vaca we do a year and family and dear friend's cook at the house each night.... very blessed but I don't go out shopping as everything is so expensive right now.

Thank you. I always wanted to know the extra costs of taking a cruise. Someone told me that at the end of the cruise they gave them a bill for tips. Did that happen to you? Glad you and your mom have those memories. Thanks!

I don’t think that’s an outrageous amount. I took me and my 15 year old grandson plus daughter and her boyfriend to Myrtle Beach last August. They were broke so I paid everything. For 5 days ocean front it cost me around 2500.00. The price of food and lodging is so outrageous. I guess it’s because of covid. I think you and your mom should go on a nice trip once a year if you can afford it. It’s nothing to be embarrassed about. You work hard, your in the prime of your life and you deserve it!💕✝️❤️🥰

We did a week in Bermuda at an all inclusive resort for our honeymoon & that was like $5000 including flights. We went to Turks and Caicos & that was over $6000 with flights. Hawaiian cruise from Island to island was about $4500 with flights.

So glad you ladies had fun. I have my 5th cruise planned for October but I search for the best deal and don’t like to go during peak season because the prices are ridiculous. Last cruise was 6 days and we got our balcony room for $250 each. The one coming in October I found for $153 which is also a balcony for 4 days. I highly recommend going after peak season. It’s still absolutely gorgeous down in the Caribbean. You’ll start getting good email offers now that you’re in the system. I only live 3 hours from Port Canaveral so we don’t have to fly in. That definitely a plus.

Atlantis Bahamas and the excursions we did (both on and off property) is one of the few vacations that I would love to do again! Highly recommend Atlantis for families that can afford it because of how much free stuff there is on location.

Glad to hear that you and your mother had a great time. Yeah, it is a big expense, but the money is worth it for one’s mental and spiritual health as well as that time you two had together. And in my opinion, you’ve earned the right to do that for yourself. . . . As for favorite trips, went to London for two weeks on my own some time ago. Absolutely loved it.

Brooke, I wish everyone was a bit more like you, the world would be a better place. Your mom must be so proud of you. When I was growing up we had nothing, I would throw the letters about field trips straight in the trash I couldn't bear to stress her out paying for them. She would never take anything from me, but every time I visit her I leave a few hundreds by the back door to make her life a bit easier, best money I spend.

You should go to Ireland next! It’s a country made for pale people! 😆 I’m super pale too and you never have to worry about too much sun there. We’ve been to Ireland 3 times and each time we spent around 2k each for a two-week trip. That includes flights, food, lodging, and souvenirs. We do budget travel so our price reflects that. Can’t wait to follow you on your next adventure!

That’s not a bad amount. It’s worth it to be with your momma. I’m glad you had fun. When I travel it’s my minor sons and I. I think the most I’ve paid was about 3000 but we stayed a month in the states. We live in Puerto Rico. I think you’d enjoy it on the island of Puerto Rico. If you ever come here I can give you a list of things to do that you’d most likely enjoy. We have old forts, a rain forest and so many beautiful beaches.

I don’t think that’s a crazy amount. And the memories are definitely worth it. I just spent 2 weeks in Indiana visiting family and it cost about 2 grand just for tickets flying from Alaska for my daughter and I and my portion of the car rental cost (was car pooling with other family members) unfortunately I’m used to travel being spendy, but it’s always worth it for the memories

@@BrookeMakennaVlogs honey life changes so quickly. I'm 41 my mums 72 in September and my dads 75. I lost my hearing overnight due to a misdiagnosis. My mums now riddled with pain from poly fibromyalgia and arthritis through her entire body and has to use a walking frame to get anywhere and an electric scooter. She's had 2 knee replacements and 7 spinal surgeries. Mum lost my granny, her mum in August 2020, she was 93. My mum was her carer for 12 years. Enjoy your life and live it how you want lovely. Luckily my mum and dad have travelled the world and have seen everything they wanted. Never feel guilty about spending hard earned money and creating memories. We get one life 💛 xx
