Hi Sam, I feel like I am a bit capped lately, capped on my potential. I am having all the right habits and a morning routine, and my business, that I recently started is also going in the right direction. I know my situation is not an airtight argument, I could make it airtight, attending to all the nooks and crannies. I just don't know how to go about it, the foundation and basis is set, just not optimized to the degree I would it to be. To formulate the problem: Foundation is set, how do I attend the details to make it air tight? P.s. I also wear a cap to keep hair under control lol P.s.s. never mind you just answered my question in the video.

I remember how you said working a full time job and trying to build a business was extremely difficult. That's the order mold you're talking about. I stayed working my job for 3 years picking up shifts, living cheap and saved up money to quit and focus on it full time because I just couldn't shift from job mode to business mode. About a year and a half in you confirmed I was doing the right thing and that was when I really tightened expenses and worked more hours to stash savings. I just wish I had discovered you sooner.

I fucken love you Sam. Your positive influence on the world goes far further than you can imagine (although in saying that, you probably can imagine it!). I have always enjoyed watching and following you, but more recently, as I have been furiously developing my business acumen, I have come to appreciate what you are doing on a much greater level. Yes, I'm talking about your strategic and macro moves. Your big-picture plays are truly inspiring when studied correctly and I have learned (and have much to learn) from you. Probably more than anyone, you would know that you have only just scratched the surface of your journey to helping this world and I'm so excited to learn more from your well thought-out, perfectly devised chess moves in the future. Keep doing what you're doing, but actively keep that mind of yours open to new possibilities. You're destined for huge, great things! I know you know it! Really I just wanted to say thank you for all you've done. Wishing you all the best as usual dude. From a big-futured 19 year old in New Zealand. Chur.

Hey Jacob, You're on the right track. I say this because you're actually aware of the issue and your honest about it. What I'd do is I'd start journaling. The results won't be immediate but they will be worth it. Journaling gives you an outlet to become more self-aware and it's an easy way to track your behaviour. "What Gets Measured Gets Improved" Peter Drucker (Journaling is a way to measure your behaviour). What do I mean when I say it helps you become more self-aware? Over time journaling will help you become aware of any of your limiting beliefs/ behaviours. It will help you get clarity on where you're headed (vision) which in turn will help you with being motivated. Vision inspires action. It's why having goals is so useful. How to start... So to start what I recommend is that you get a decent notebook and a pen you enjoy writing with. Do this because it will make writing easier. You want to make this as easy as possible so you actually do it. The goal for the first 30- 90 days is to get it so journaling becomes a habit. That’s it. Just get a good notebook and a pen you enjoy writing with. What are you going to write about? It doesn’t matter. At this point I'd avoid structure. The main focus is to get it so you consistently sit down for a period of time and start writing. Write whatever you want when you’re sitting there pen in hand. We’re keeping this simple so you actually do it. It doesn’t matter what you write about because the important thing here that you go through the motions. The bigger picture here is that you’re building a habit that will serve you for the rest of your life. Handling Resistance... You may have some resistance to getting started. What this looks like will be questioning the usefulness of doing this or having doubt that it will even work. You might ask yourself why you’re even bothering. Understand that’s a limiting belief that’s holding you back. To overcome this all you have to do is…. ---think about what you’ll get from it. I’ve helped you here by giving you a list of reasons why journaling is useful. Do this because this will shift your focus on to why journaling is important. ----Use positive self- talk. Actual assert to yourself by saying out-loud to yourself something like: “I’m doing this because journaling is important.” ----Then actually follow-through and do it. By then doing the activity its sends a clear message to your brain that this is something that you prioritise. What this does is it replaces whatever your limiting belief is right now with the belief that journaling is useful and it’s worth doing. Now, if you're wondering if it actually works... It does. I've been doing it for probably 5+ years now. In that time I've completely shifted my behaviour from an unemployed couch potato to someone who gets up at 6 every morning and starting my own business. I haven't changed as a person my habits and behaviours did. Journaling was a key cornerstone in that. I hope this helps. Tobias

NinjightNationCorp I said on the right track because at least he’s being honest with himself and admitting some faults he’s currently facing. Too many people bull shit themselves and look for someone or something else to blame. Because he’s being honest he can then work from that as opposed to ignoring the elephant in the room and getting nowhere. I agree with the action oriented approach, however I disagree with caring about the outcome getting rid of procrastination. You can still procrastinate even if you care about the outcome- most students care about getting a good grade but a lot still procrastinate. What works is simplicity- when something seems bigger in your head there is more resistance. Therefore break it down and make simple and as a result more actionable. Lastly, I’d say journaling is a more practical form of meditating. It leaves you with something that you can then reflect on. (I’m not discounting the traditional kind- if you read Aldous Huxley doors to perception you’ll see there is a very practical reason to chanting and things like that).

Thanks for the video Sam. Here's what cripples me - How to give up or abandon what you already have to go the next level. Its hard to let go of what you've achieved and shatter it yourself, even deep down you know it's gonna be for the better. But there's a lot risk and walking out of comfort zone. Whether it be beginners who want to quit their job to go full time, or like becker who dump all business and focuses on markethero. At every stage it happens that what brings you here won't bring you there. Its similar to the chaos think that u have mentioned. Reinvite them and create a new S curve. I would love to hear your atomic breakdown on the psychology, science and strategy behind how that could be done. How to ingrain that, so we can keep shatter ourselves and go to the next level.

Perfect timing Sam! Was going through accelerator today. Niche selection has been the biggest challenge for a lot of students because as you go through life, you gain experience in many different areas. However, most people do not specialize in one given area. That said it took me over 12 months to finally fuse 2 niches together into one within the health and fitness industry. Perhaps updating accelerator with a "choosing your niche 3.0" where there's a deeper discussion about niche fusion or micro-niching would help but niche selection is definitely a big one. Side note - I noticed a lot of students defaulting to Facebook ads for XYZ clients, however, have no passion or love in that. I was one of those people for a long timeframe have recently switch gears.
@jacobwilson90325 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I've been struggling to find my niche for 7 months and I've just defaulted to "doing ads" which I won't take action on probably because I don't really want to "do ads"
@prestonneubert19835 жыл бұрын
I did the same. Nothing really gets my attention or passion for long. Multiple niches have popped up and seemed good but after some research and time, I lost interest. Ended up thinking "ehh someone else can do it, I'm not that interested" So I defaulted to doing ads for a few companies just to make some cash until I have a better idea of what I actually have a passion for. I think I purchased your course a year ago and never picked a niche.

Sam- Thank you- love this one. Your content has radically changed our approach to business- As a creatives in business, you showed us that we under-valued the importance of documenting and creating systems- and over valued "new" (read shiny objects) - we now understand we need both- but in proper ratios. In marketing- your teaching to look for a specific need (problem to solve) before trying to sell a service has been a world changer for us. That is why I was really excited to hear you mention that you are creating a space that is forest themed for your new offices- as this is what our team specializes in - and finally gives us the opportunity to give back to you. This is so awesome Sam, really excited to see the new direction you're taking Consulting.com. Your consulting program changed my life and shifted my paradigm. Now, you're shifting it again. Now you've got me pondering thing about advertising, but it makes sense. "Content is king", and maybe it's the best way to position yourself going forward as an expert that people go to, instead of you paying to show up in front of them. But that leads to a question that's plaguing me, and something I know you're thinking a lot about: without advertising, what is this new paradigm going forward that will become more valuable than paid advertising? Because people can't just be expected to show up at your doorstep. Across many industries we still have to "go to" the customer, much like you say "go to their level" and "get on their wavelength" to reach them. My mind is boggled trying to imagine the newest S curve you'll be going through but I can't wait to watch and learn like I always do. Thanks again Sam.

I've been working on a project for a few months now, at home. People talk about discipline. This is the second project I try. During the first one, I researched and tried to apply a bunch of stuff about discipline, productivity, routine, organization. There's probably some good stuff but the project failed and I lost all energy to keep up with this. Now, on my second try, I just try to don't stress it and do some work everyday. Not much planning needed, I just make to do lists, and sometimes don't even follow them to the end before I do something else (project related). It's like, just do something. Got stuck? Go do something else. Just avoid doing useless stuff. And you gotta look at the big picture sometimes - in my case, the front page of the website - and remember why you started. It's not gonna be inspiring and energetic everyday, many days I'm not very well emotionally and just keep working on it like I'm a robot. Not every day is productive, but don't stress it and don't stop. I'm not a pro (yet) but I hope this helps someone. And Sam's video "Face off with the devil" is amazing.

Hey Sam! Thanks for your content man. The videos come out few and far between, but when they do it's always value packed. That would lead to a question I have for you. In past videos you talk alot about your discipline and focus, and considering the level of success you have achieved, it's incredibly admirable how long as consistently you've maintained these traits. Alot of people ask for simple tips like 'how can I be disciplined.' or 'how can I be focused'. I was wondering if you could take that a step further and talk about the most effective application of discipline. For example, to generate sales in a business, a owner may have incredible discipline, and holds himself accountable to cold call 50 businesses a day. He may have a competitor with equal ammounts of discipline who instead emails 100 businesses a day, and so on. Once someone achieves that 'monk mode' level of discipline, how can they best determine the functionality of application, and how can they best hone their discipline to be less about brute force and more about efficiency and effectiveness. Obviously one option is to just measure the result and analyze the outcome, but I was curious if you could take it a step beyond that with your expertise. To summarize; -How can one ensure their discipline is being applied in the most effective way possible? -Are there different forms of discipline? Which is best for each task / problem? -Is there a point / situations where discipline is harmful as supposed to being a tool? Thanks so much Sam! Stoked for your future content. Have a great day mate! 🙏

You a somewhat right. But it doesn't have to take that much to be successful. 50 cold calls a day is not what Sam recommends - you'd get burnt out!

i feel like the opposite of business advice and a whiteboard is not heavy metal, but hanging on a beach with friends, making music and enjoying whatever comes at you. To let go of any control. And gratefulness. :) Thanks for your work though, it's really valuable. How do we balance now and later?

Three engineers here! We’ve invented, patented, designed and developed a cool “physical” product, which fits in a small niche, solves actual problems and will be sold to end consumers and B2B (online shop / amazon / retailers). We’re really good in engineering stuff but lack in sales and advertisement skills. Problem: How much energy / budget in the age of the internet / amazon / online customer feedback is necessary to be spend on advertisement compared to developing an intuitively usable and clever product. We’re like 90% development and 10% marketing right now…. You are an inspiration for us Sam!!!!!

Hi (Bonjour From France) Sam, thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts with us. My biggest problems as a single dad of 2 young preschool kids, working a a freelance PM, i struggle for putting into action my plan of setting in place my e-commerce (Shopify) and working on my real estate investing plan. A read a lot and work hard on my mindset because i'm love learning. I'm more introvert than extravert it was easy to cut useless distraction but in my head i still hurt by the failure of my relation with the mother of my child whom.is a more about partying. When I haven't got my kids i think about them time. I'm turning 40 and need to get results an have another life but i'm struggling with to much things to do(household, working on my business, learning new skills that i sell to my customer, learning about real estate investing, finding real estate investment etc....). Please do a new video on the 5-10 books that influenced you the most and you're biggest takeaway from each. Already devoured your old book recommendations. Hungry for more. You've read so many you could probably make it a series (e.g. this week the 5 books that taught me how to think, the 5 books that inspired me, the 5 books that taught me business, the 5 books that taught me sales, etc) Another idea - a video on your digital organization methods (desktop, google docs, projects, team, slack, todo/backlog queue, ideas, notes) would be amazing.

1. I want to know how you pick which books to read, how you learn from books and how you use them 2. how do you know if the mentor is right for you and how to know if they are for real (meaning they do what they teach and really care about their students and customers) 3. how do you eat and what you eat for cognitive function and if you are using nootropics and your thoughts on nootropics 4. how do you exercise and how much, what type of exercises you do for more energy, better cognitive functioning 5. how do you deal with friends of friends, relatives and "close people" who are asking you for money and help, do you just say NO to them? 6. do you do keto diet or cyclical keto diet? (your thoughts on keto diets) 7. do you do gratitude? and what questions do you ask, what do you focus on to be grateful? thats all that I can think of now, thanks

Hey Sam thanks for this video, you’re now really showing your true mission about being student obsessed and people can feel it in your words. I want your experience/advice on how to choose / read or listen to great books and what are the best times and what are the most effective ways to do so. No one so far has published an actual great process to do that.

One thing I've been having difficulty figuring out is what is the ideal environment to set up for yourself to work? It seems either setting up a good home office, or joining a coworking space can help productivity. To reduce cash spending until there's more recurring revenue, it's also possible to move out of an expensive city / place into a less expensive place, or perhaps to a less expensive country to be able to work on things with a lower cost of living. Although this may also mean you're farther away from family / friends and other things that you may appreciate. If you didn't get to start your business and make revenue while in your parent's garage, was there some other setup you think you would have done? Maybe stay in a lower cost of living place like Bali or Chiang Mai while you got started?

KEY CHALLENGES: 1. How to transition from B2C to B2B in the service-based e-learning biz 2. How to position a new B2B service and sell it 3. How to know how far you are down the S-curve...are there signs & symptoms? 4. How to create "the fly-wheel" effect for a service-based business (without copyrighted protection) i.e no Facebook group or online platform with pre-recorded videos. Is it possible? Hope that helps Sam & thanks!

I'm in that building phase and it 100% DOES HAPPEN, you tell people about it, they ask when it's going to be done, you say a date you have in mind, then you're late to it. I'm in the late part. But some time ago I told my friends I won't tell them about it anymore until I have "the locomotive running" well. You know, in case it flops. Also I thought I was just bad at timing and meeting deadlines in general, but you said it takes A LOT of effort to get it running (totally agree) and you miss your own deadlines, so I hope it's just for now. BTW aren't you afraid someone will "take" your idea?

Not being able to engage to other people and make me look like a posible business partner due my lack of charisma. It’s imposible to make business if your potential clients don’t trust your abilities , or simply if they don’t like you. Things are lot easier when they see potential in you from the start. It’s more powerfull than any sales funnel. Even if you are not an expert, if you like them they are more lickely see you as one. I think this point is very important and no one talks about it. It’s aplied to business and life in general. (Excuse my english. It’s not my mother tongue.) Thanks for your amaizing videos!

Huge problem, that I know many struggle with because I do, Finding the balance between a finishing product, and getting going. Always waiting for a big project to be finished to start selling, running ads, executing. It’s tough to have to wait 1/2 months for every little move just because it all has to be perfect, When it could easily not be perfect and fail. Cheers

Biggest problem is letting go of projects and focusing on only one. There are 1001 reasons to keep each of the separate businesses but as long as the attention is split, none of them are really breaking through to real success. Been struggling with this for years.

Hey Sam. Just had to tell ya that I did just the free two weeks of consulting accelerator. This was about 6 monthes ago. I got my first client after two weeks in. And I’ve grossed $10,000 this summer with him throwing parties in Chicago. I’ve also learned how to learn, (thank you for psycho cybernetics). And I have taught myself how to make beats. (And how to sell them) I was making tacos before this so I couldn’t afford the course then, Thank you Sam.

That’s an incredibly interesting quote about advertising being like sex. What hugely successful companies do you know of that don’t pay for advertising? I can’t think of any and not sure I believe that theory. My main struggle in business is finding the time and resources to build and scale it while maintaining my other obligations, i.e. building while having a job. Glad you’re back, love your channel!

I really appreciate the analogies Guru-Team leader / Order - Chaos. That increases my ability to describe and diagnose my own client issues, and speak to them in simple terms. This stuff is high value to me. My biggest challenge is my low self-esteem, it limits me as I perfect things and I am afraid that I keep take too long to reach the next level of play. My stuff is way overkill most of the time.

Sam, I love your content. Very helpful! The biggest problem for me is product market fit. I know we are supposed to start by listening to the market’s needs and looking at our current interests and skills...but even beyond that if there was a more scientific model or framework to follow when defining our niche it would be super helpful. I - like a model that considers the most important variables and assigns appropriate weights (buying power of market, existing competition, current skill set(maybe this will Be irrelevant) etc. I also know we should call and talk to people but it just feels like this strategy is also not scaleable. In your video about myths in the online business marketplace you talked about how many advertisers make decisions with not enough data - Aren’t we making a decision about niche with not enough data if all we have is weeks of phone calls and qualitative responses from the market that may be difficult to assess(you have a good solution for assessment with the series of “why?”questions though, was very helpful ) Anyone who also struggles with this please give thumbs up Thanks again for the helpful content

More tested, tried, and true ways to get mindset changes dialed in so progress can be made. I've been readying Psycho-Cybernetics and reviewing week 2 of your Consulting Accelerator over and over again, trying to adapt it to myself and still find it hard to get the change that I need. More precise and effective mindset change methods. Perhaps away to amplify mindset change feedback. Mindset changes seem to happen at a glacial pace and there appears to be little to no feedback, so I fall off and fail. Thanks.

I've seen a few videos of student interviews and people did say they met Consulting.com through the FB ad! BTW I met Sam from a recommendation in this video "How I learn things online" from Nathaniel Drew (at 5min50). That just showed up in my recommended section. Thank God it did. There's some good people in entrepreneurship out there, but it's hard to find one that talks about the regular person's actual problems around it.

Hi Sam. First off, thanks for another incredibly high value video. You never fail to deliver. Secondly, at the end of the video you ask the viewer to subscribe if they want to receive a notification whenever a new video is published. However, you missed a part. This is how the old KZbin worked. With the current way KZbin works, you not only need to subscribe but also click the notification bell next to the subscribe button (which appears when you subscribed). Only then do you receive notifications with new videos. Just letting you know :) Finally, I would really like to see more on how to structure your life, become more disciplined and actually do the work that you need to do to become successful. We all know what to do, however almost no one knows how to do it successfully and consistently. It has not been easy for me to stay consistent, stay accountable and follow a routine. I always have been leaning heavily on the chaos side and I think most viewers would agree. How can we become more ordered? Especially a person like me who scores low on conscientiousness and industriousness (in the big 5 personality test, conscientiousness and industriousness are key indicators of someone who works hard) I believe the problem you have only a small percentage of your viewers share with you. Most people follow you (I do anyway) because you inspire them with your insane work ethic that we all wish we shared with you :) Massive thanks!!!
