I literally had a thought to myself, why has KZbin not been the same n did the math and realized I missed you mdfks. Yoooo hrs later here we are! Had to pause b4 I watch to say I’m happy to see you guys. I don’t think you guys know how these videos made ya a part of our day.

I think if you just take random footage from what ever camera you have, phone, dslr etc and then do a sit down like you just did that would be perfect at the end of the month. It simple, you can use footage you already have and its a way to reflect on what you have done over the month, which hits one of your objectives in your process.

Exactly, I think so too. This was very enjoyable.

I was beginning to think that our favorite potato was hurt or even worse. Considering that he has not uploaded in more than a month, I was extremely concerned and extremely happy to see this video. Welcome back! I never thought that I would feel incomplete without the connection to a KZbinr I have grown close to over the years.

For me this channel is much more interesting than the camera gear channel. This is your life, the original, while there are dozens of camera gear channels talking about the same thing. Don't ever turn off this channel!

I'm really glad to see the vlog channel alive still. This channel was such a good friend during lock down. It was really nice to have an extra life to be a part of when the whole world was closed. And to see it back, well it's awesome and I love it.

Appreciate your introspection with the post-it notes. I think one thing that I appreciate, your hyper self-awareness. Looking forward to more Vlogs, monthly or whenever, zero pressure Gene! Live your life! Just thankful to watch a slice of your life. I like your catch-up session with Dylan, adds some structure to the video.

I just got done binge watching the Potato Jet channel for the past couple weeks. I really enjoy the tips , info and equipment reviews that you do. It has inspired me to start working a little more on my channel (which is in a pretty sad state at the moment) but working on adding a regular video camera along with the drone stuff. Keep yourself healthy, that's important, take it from an old man (that's the secret to getting old, don't abuse your body, you will pay for it down the line). I'm looking forward to seeing more of your content on both channels. For now, I'll have to catch up on this channel.

It seems to me that this channel is a "Hangout with Gene and the crew" show. And that is PERFECT. No pressure for a weekly vid. No concern with production quality beyond the basics. Just all of us hanging out having a beer together and enjoying a few laughs. Truly what a vlog should be when it is secondary to a main channel.

realizing how much/little time certain things actually take is a huge thing. i started working in radio broadcast as a technician about a year ago and sometimes i have to get entire tasks done within like 30 seconds. and it's very much possible. realizing that after a couple tense shifts kinda blew my mind and made me a lot more aware of time spent on certain things in my private life.

Great to see the personal reflection and growth Gene! Having watched a lot of KZbin over these last several years, it seems all too often this is the inevitable outcome for those whose channel has outgrown their intended vision. Most people aren't prepared for what success or popularity brings as a byproduct. We all want our channels to grow and "become someone," and yet it brings with it complexities that we can't understand or fathom until we're in that situation. So, good on you to step back and find balance and refocus. KZbin is a lot of fun, but it shouldn't be the thing that defines us or rules our lives. Cheers.

A lot of that imagined pressure is just in your own head - most people that watch this channel know exactly what it's for. It's just free-form side content, so please treat it that way and don't burn yourself out too much~ It looked like you were trying to constantly up the quality for a while, but please, just take whatever camera you have in a given moment and shoot whatever you want. Maybe one vid a month like you stated at the end there sounds good. We'll be here to watch & listen. 😜

I went Resolve cold turkey a couple years ago. It is great to have everything work and not crash each time I use it. Rendering in 1/4 of the time? Rendering 3 video versions at the same time. Working on photos while the videos are rendering. Same computer and always the most recent version of Premiere but it didn't matter. Saving me a ton of time!

Take care of yourself Gene. I sensed an unusual energy from you in this video. Maybe it's because I haven't seen you post in a bit; you are naturally an energetic person, so maybe I wasn't used to it. But you felt a little frenetic and scattered. I have ADD as well, so I know the feeling of being scattered and, at times, overwhelmed. Don't worry about us wanting videos, or your sponsors wanting things from you. Take care of yourself first. It's like when you are on the plane and the attendant tells you to put your mask on yourself first before you put it on your kid. Make sure you put that mask on when you need it.
