It's really made a difference not worrying about making a classroom environment in your home. You don't necessarily need a dedicated room just to homeschool. The classroom setup makes sense in public school, but is not necessary at home. 😁

Agreed! Not pushing our kids and letting them learn at their own pace is a game changer.

Agree about Covid making people think homeschool is a certain way when it’s not just replicating the school systems

I encouraged several people to withdraw their children in 2021 for that very reason. A couple did and sent their kids back, but one of them stuck with it and absolutely loves it! And she seemed the least likely 🤣

This was great. Thanks! Freedom to go at own pace while customizing to the specific child. Thanks for sharing.

It’s really hard to explains homeschooling to people who are not familiar with it. I’ll always also shocked when people are not as enthusiastic about homeschooling as I am too! Lol

I remember we where discussing homeschooling when we newlyweds and I didn’t think we would but we sent our older kids to school and pulled them out!!! I went to school for early education and we learned to go at the kids pace and I couldn’t understand what would happen to the kids when they left preschool to go to school!!! I love that my kids learn at their own pace!!! I challenge them but want them at their level!!! My 2 gifted kids still struggle and are gifted in one or a few areas of learning!!! I’ve noticed that homeschool curriculum is advanced!!! I remember in the 90’s my friends asked me why school Started late and I was like homeschooling is awesome!!! I was a Teenager at the time!!! My kids see it as more normal!!! My surrogate mother don’t agree that we homeschool and my older daughter says well she’s not my gran!!! I love hearing it from her!!!

I got opposition at first as well when we started homeschooling. It was hard but I think they have all seen the benefits

I still struggle with that sometimes. I hold my kids to this unrealistic expectation’s sometimes and I have to check myself. We homeschool not school at home ❤

My son is doing pretty well and seems to be learning long term strategies vs memorization, so I’m pleased. Hopefully you see good progress in your son as well ❤️

Learning what your children should be learning, and at the pace they should be learning, is definitely something that takes a bit of time to understand. I always wanted my kids to be at or above "grade level," but what does that even mean? And who really gets to decide when a child should learn something. Great thoughts!

Thank you so much for watching and sharing. I think as homeschooling parents, we can tend to be our own worst critics! Glad I'm not alone!
