Even though I may appear to be in my 30s, I’m actually 45 years old. I’m unsure whether my age will have any impact. I’m fluent in Spanish and German. Do I need to take an exam to prove my fluency, and what is the process for doing so? I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you ❤

@@Alejandra-lf6wv Age is a nonfactor we have flight attendants who are 75+ and still flying! Many start this career as a second career! It is not an advantage or disadvantage to be hired as an LOD. If I were you I would just apply as a regular flight attendant and then decide if you want to do the LOD program later. My friends who have done the LOD program, do not enjoy it because they often go to the same routes over and over again, which limits the exploring options unless you pick up and it's harder to swap your trips as you have to swap with another LOD which is a small number of flight attendants in the grand scheme. Often times it also limits your base options let's say they need Language of Destination (Lod) flight attendants in Boston, well you will be going to BOS and will be stuck there and have to to commute or move for your duration of the LOD commitment. These are some of the negatives but there are positives too! Like being able to hold trips at a junior level that only senior regular flight attendants can hold. But it will be the same international destinations repeatedly. But yes, you will have to prove efficiency after being hired.

Anywho, I was watching your video and you said if you live in “New Orleans but your base is NY , you have to find a way to get to your base.” My question is will the airline pay for my flight ? I have a question I can’t be a flight attendant now because I have a 16 year old son, but when he graduates I am gonna go for it. Can you let me know if I find a way to do the 6 week training. Can you do flight attendant part time? And work a full time job?

You MIGHT be able to but it would be difficult. Your schedule is so scattered in the beginning and you’re on call a lot. So it would be very difficult to have a full time job. You’d have to get a job that you can work around your FA schedule. You also don’t know where you’re gonna be based until after training typically so if you’re based far away from where you currently live you’d either have to move or commute. So you’d be away from home for longer periods of time than if you lived near your base airport

I’m a registered nurse and I say I’m going to try to be a flight attendant when my girls get 18 but what I don’t understand is why flight attendants don’t apply for certain bases. As in.. a base actually post a job for flight attendant online and then you apply to that base. You should know during interview process and training that you applied and got the job at the base you applied to.

Hey you should definitely do it ! The airlines tell you where you will be based at you can move around based but you must be able to hold the transfer it’s all about seniority when you were hired
