I don't have a grid either sis, but who's coming to arrest me for not having a grid. Your hair looks great so don't worry about it, even if the line for cornrows are "messy" - that's alright. My regret with mine is that I didn't make them smaller but I'm so happy I can get up and go on mornings 😌

Your locs look full and beautiful. I myself have given up the so called grid because when it is all said and done my hair is so thick that you really can’t even see that I asked for diamonds but now I have some squares diamond , triangles rectangles and I don’t care because my hair is healthy. And that is the most important thing.

Hey sis I don't have grid either ... It's locs done DIY!😅 You literally do it your way and get comfortable doing your unique styles with or without having that gridline ... You mentioned the "proper way" that's not the case with micro locs there is no 1 standard for doing it unless it's sister locs . Love em and make your style work for you!! They look great!! Your locs looks nice! If it was me, I would keep it. Matter of fact, my locs won’t have a grid because I don’t have anybody to help or another mirror. Not all locs have to have a grid. It makes it you unique and natural.

I am 2 years into my journey and don't have grid. I still love them and I take care of them myself. I wash my hair every 4 to 6 weeks, I now palmroll my microlocs.

I did my own micro locs and I find the grid doesn’t matter. Your hair is absolutely beautiful. I think the hair lays beautifully without it. I started with short hair and felt the grid was important. Hair is ear length now. If I had longer hair like yours, I wouldn’t have worried about the grid.

I would leave them the way they are. I don't think locks are meant to be perfect. I have sisterlocks but I self maintain and it is very probable the grid has been modified but I don't care. They are manicured enough, they are healthy and they are unique 😉

@@Evaelehand I want my locs to be very very thin and hard. From a distance it has to look like natural hair like the youtber 'the 4ceer'. the worst part about locs is that you have to retight them. that is the main reason I take them down.

Your locs are beautiful! I didn’t use a grid when I started mine either, most times it’s fine but there are moments when I wish I would have made my parts a little cleaner for styling and maintenance. In the long run, it may be worth it to to redo it. But if you decide not to you’ll still have beautiful locs!

I’m in the process of getting locs haven’t gotten them yet. I love the look of them but figured I’d stay away from them due to grid look and the maintenance. Yours look great. I understand what you mean about parts for styling purposes.

Trust me. Remove those locs and do them the way you like. It's not going to get any better. You will hate them the older they get. My first micro locs i was unhappy. I had a grid but some were too large, others were too small. I interlock a few together. I tried combining and lost the grid. Tried sticking with it but got frustrated. Took 8 months to remove and do them correctly.

@@Evaelehand it took me a week to take down 324 locs. Work in small section at a time. Wet the section, slap some oil on the area you're working with and sit under a face steamer or if you have a hair steamer, it will loosen the locs.
