I have done something magical today. In Russian sephora we now have 50% off on kvd, becca and Marc jacobs foundations, I wanted all three of them even though I already have about 6 opened foundation. What I’ve done is I just checked reviews and pictures from people and realized that these are not that excellent and not dewy enough for me so I just deleted all of them from my cart. I saved 60$ and continue to use what I have

Gosh it’s so difficult to see a new item you think you want but then realize it’s not what you thought it was. Also kind of a relief when you hold back from that impulsive shopping habit and save money. Congratulations on being disciplined enough to research first. Tip that helped me: put all of your extra cream or liquid products in the fridge during warm weather or when you’re not using them. They won’t spoil as quickly. At one point i had 9 foundations...and it’s taken me 4 years to get it down to 2 bottles. A friend just gave me one that doesn’t work for her any more so make that 3. My goal is to finish these 3 by end of 2022.

I totally relate to storing your makeup in multiple locations. It's so easy to forget what you have. This applies to skincare for me too. I've caught myself saying I don't have X when I do, and sometimes even more than one. I said that about lip balms recently and I actually had 4 or 5. You have some killer advice and tips in this video. I love it!

Thanks for the video, just started watching it. I just realized I have a lot of makeup, get a lot of makeup subscription boxes, and I barely use any of my products I already have. FOMO is real, and I don't need to be spending all this money on stuff I'm not using.

Tip 5 is something that wouldn't have even occurred to me but makes so much sense lol. Because there's so many products that I have but I never use (eg eyebrow pencil, contour, etc). I honestly should list it out so I don't end up wasting my money on that later. Thanks for this video!

I’m kind of playing myself because while I wish I had tracked my empties in the past I haven’t so far this year 😅 but I do still have all of the products so I will be able to whenever I get the motivation to write everything down! And thank you!!!

How did you deal with the fomo of not buying. New brands, new products left right and centre these days. How was your experience with that? Oh btw I just did my inventory and I think I'm starting but I'm scared too. I got big fomo

For the first year and a half of my no-buy I just kind of avoided new makeup releases! I didn't follow any brands on social media, I avoided the drugstore and Sephora, and I didn't watch content about new stuff. Now I don't have to do that because I feel like I have a better relationship to makeup and I don't have those *want to buy everything* desires!

Well it's basicaly getting out of an addiction. At first you crave it and you need to remind yourself why you are doing this (btw. I suggest creating a list of reasons before you start so you can read it in the time of weakness) but with time your brain learns the new way and you don't care anymore. This is an optimistics scenario. It is some kind of an addiction so be prepared to slip from time to time.

A few months back i don't have any money to buy any makeup so there were so many deals and discounts i had to pass over because of that and by the time a month was over it didn't bother me anymore as much. I feel like it's become more about chasing good deals than about the product itself.
