Do you aspire to be a Commander on any level? I started my Officer career as a PL and it lacked guidance so I prefer a "staff"/ specialty role because they really guided me from the beginning.

Super helpful video!! You said that lts become PLs or XOs. How is that decided? What I was told was the first day you get there you go on a run with the BC and if you dont fall out you get PL or FSO otherwise you're stuck in the 3 shop.

A H It depends on where you go. When I got to Korea the BN CDR was doing interviews because there were so many LTs here. However, some BN CDRs dont do interviews and they want to give ALL the LTs a chance to be a Platoon Leader. So it really depends on that location. So here at Casey it started to depend on what’s AVAILABLE. FSO is not here at Casey Bcs it’s MLRS. I’ve heard of ppl writing intro letters to their BN or BDE commanders too and it worked. They actually love that shit.
