Hey all and William. William I’ve been watching your show for a while. Nice job I enjoy it. Back in 2021 my son went off to college and play baseball. I leased on with Horizon to be able to watch him pitch. It only lasted one year tore but his labrum during next summer. No more baseball but I was able to see him compete his last season. It (RV Transport) worked great and I fell in love with it. I’m 58. I quit my lifelong job of being a construction superintendent and getting my classA CDL. Not sure who I will sign on with but will be transporting by end of January. And yes you can make money if you do it right. Keep up the good work. Hope to see you soon.

So Ford is having the same problems with there 10 speed transmission, I've been told that Ford and GM collaborated on this transmissions and they are essentially the same.😢

GMC has an Allison built unit.

@BakersfieldGuru So I'm told that the last year that it was a true Allison trany was 2019, but GM owns majority stock in Allison so they are putting the Allison badge on it. I don't personally know for certain but my info comes from a GM executive.

Good news = a new Duramax engine is being built with head studs, CP4-CP3 conversion... Etc.. BTW... What part of WI you from? We have 2 large dairy farms east of Ladysmith WI. Talk at ya soon... @@michaellee8475 the only discounts we get are on the ComData card and we aren't sure if that card gives discounts on unleaded. Sorry we couldn't answer your question.

Smart move installing the large fuel tank, however each state requires you to pay road tax use (IFTA). If you don't purchase fuel which includes road tax from a state that you have driven through, you may owe FICA taxes on a quarterly basis. maybe your way is cost effective buying cheap fuel and paying taxes separately. I've been saying it should be 8 hours since I started. Nobody sleeps 10 hours while living out of a truck. The issue is they're running on a 24 hour clock and don't want us driving more than 11 hours. They could easily run off a 22 hour clock. We rarely use the whole extra 3 hours during a shift anyway. There should at least be an option where anything we don't use in the extra 3 hours can come off of the reset time.

The main reason the 10 hour rest period is was to allow drivers to drive the same hours of the day, 14 hour duty and 10 off equals 24. A reset is 34 hours. So 4 letter words like snow, work, rest, are off the table. If you want a 8 hour rest period, drive a passenger bus, they still operate on the 10 drive, 8 off cycle. Looks like you had stopped at Grand Island Pilot. It is not the good old days, it is the good old nights that you remember. Still waiting for the things you wish you knew before starting RV transport.

Yes 10 hours is too long. So is the 34 hour reset. My career was 13 to 16 hours plus 21 days straight with 24 hours off then another 21 days straight.
