Hey I never really comment on vids but this one was really useful and really reassuring. You always hear horror stories of big cities and this was nice to actually hear people de-bunking that - makes me actually look forward to going down to UCL eeee

What about traveling in London? Is everything related to UCL near enough to each other to just walk from place to place, or do you need to spend some amount of money per week on bus tickets and stuff? P.S. Loved the video! I feel less insecure after watching it

London is quite big, so walking is somewhat difficult in many cases. Buses are really worth it for moving around because they are really cheap, however, when the streets are really busy (early in the morning or afternoon) they can get quite slow. The tube is an alternative, but it can get really crowdy and it is not a very pleasant experience (especially during COVID). My favourite option is cycling. You could either get your own bike from a second hand store, or get a Santander cycle year student subscription which is £70/year- that way you can leave and pick up a bike from any stand. From most UCL accommodations you should be able to cycle to UCL within 15-40 minutes. For some you dont even have to, they are walking distance from UCL. Fitzrovia is a nice area, because it is close to most things, so you should be able to get anywhere you want within an hour maximum with mixed cycling, busing and tubing (worst case ubering). In terms of moving within UCL, although UCL does not have a campus, most of your teaching should be in buildings close to each other and shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes to change between lectures- they also have a rule that lectures start t minutes after the normal time and end 5 minutes before, so you should have enough time.

Hey, I go to UCL and I have barely spent any money on transport this year! Obviously it depends where you're living but most of the accommodation is walking distance from both the uni and central London :)

Do you know your professors well at UCL or are the courses so big that you don't really get to have any kind of relationship with them?

thanks so much for this video!!! i currently have an offer from kcl for this september as ucl rejected me earlier this year, but as it's always been a dream uni of mine, i'm considering taking a gap year out and reapplying there so i can hopefully get in for 2022 entry. do you think ucl as a uni is worth this decision?

hi Weronika, hope you’re well! i was just wondering, for this year were students able to stay in their halls even during the lockdowns (both international & national) and i was also wondering if for the next year, if there is another lockdown (god forbid 😩), would students still be allowed to stay in their residences and use campus facilities? thank you 😊
