I keep seeing + comments on KZbin recently, what are they referring too? (I doubt I'd get an answer but I'm really interested to know what it's about)

+CtrlAltDel Hank Green from vlogbrothers made a video the other day encouraging the KZbin community to do this as a way of cheating the comment algorithm and getting more positive comments to the top instead of trolls/arguments. It seems to work cause a reply is worth more than just a like of a comment. :)

carultch uh yeh, not true. At all. Gender does not equal sex or genitals
@pidayrocks2235

@@arrow8285 Correct, but only because gender is defined to be a social construct (i.e. it doesn't really exist outside the context of society and what it means to be a certain gender/ the roles associated with certain genders can change in different societies). Basically, you can consider Gender to be a figment of society. The terms that always hold true regardless of society are the four sexes (Male, Female, Hermaphrodite and Intersex -- i.e. penis, vagina, both and neither).... so yes, "women" doesn't mean "people with vaginas" but "female" DOES mean "people with vaginas" and I think most people outside of the LGBTQ+ community tend to think of those two terms (woman and female) as being interchangeable.

Oh my god, vaginal discharge. It was never mentioned at all at school or by my parents so when I started noticing it in my underwear I googled it and everything about it asks what it smells like, that seems to be a big indicator if you have a problem. I have no sense of smell. There was no way I was going to get someone to sniff it for me. I genuinely thought I had some kind of infection for years!

i wish we had been told that having inverted nipples was completely normal & okay. i remember being told so often that having different sized boobs was completely normal and okay (which it is!) but i felt SO bad about my nipples & that they were inverted & was barely ever told that they were okay. teach more about nipple diversity in general tbh, small nipples are okay, inverted and flat nipples are lovely, big areolas, small areolas, dark nipples/areolas, bumpy areolas, hairy nipples/areolas, they're all great.

One thing I am thankful for is that my school gave us absolutely amazing sexual education and for 3 years as well. We had local university students come to our school because they ran a group called 'sexpressions' because it's so much easier to talk to people in a similar age group to us. I commend schools that aren't scared to talk about sex, relationships and everything in between. I cannot explain how happy I was to know our school cared about educating young people!

I wish I had been taught properly about the hymen. I'm 25 and found out a month ago from a doctor that my hymen hadn't "fallen away," like they usually do. Because the information about it everywhere was conflicted and confusing, and nothing "broke" my first time, I thought I didn't even have one. But it's the opposite, it's still there and it's the thing that makes sex a bit painful for me.

I wanted accurate information about sexuality. Asexuality wasn't mentioned. Bisexuality and homosexuality were mentioned in passing and we were told to "Google it." That really made me feel great, education system. I really felt like my sexuality was considered equal to heterosexuality. I also wanted more information about my genitalia and internal sex organs. The information I got was very basic and pretty inaccurate in school. Sex ed should also start much earlier. I started puberty way before we started sex ed. By the time periods were mentioned, I'd already started mine. Consent needed to be discussed effectively. Preventing STIs when there isn't a penis involved needs mentioning. We need dedicated PSCHEE (I think that's the acronym) teachers. The subject was a joke.

I wish circumcision wasn't normalized in the states! I think it counts as abuse to alter a child's body without their permission. It's a religious thing and decreases pleasure so I don't know why our doctors feel the need to do it to every baby boy. We consider female circumcision to be a horrible and antiquated method of torture, so why don't we give the same consideration to males?
@hailtz

mmhh that is a tough one! I was circumcised as a baby but not as a religious thing. I am glad my parents did that. I think it looks way better, it is surely more hygenic (main reason they did that in the first place). I disagree on the pleasure. Yes, it is less sensitive but this is a good thing in my opinion. It leads to longer sex. (how can that be bad! :-) ) My Girlfriend an i have a 2 month old boy. I really think about Circumcision for him. (i'd like to hear from circumcised males that have negative feelings/opinions about it to make a good decission) In my opinion and from what i know female circumsission is a total different thing. It serves no (positive) medical purpose, it has no cosmetic or hygenic advantages and most importantly it destroys the ability to feel pleasure during intercourse. The reasons this is done has never to do with the wellbeeing of the woman who suffers the procedure

I'd go even as far as to say virginity isn't even a thing. You either have had sex or you haven't. Historically virginity was something that added value to women and really had nothing to do with men. I don't understand why we still use an old patriarchal term that objectifies women to define whether you've had sex or not, it's stupid.
@misstrify
@misstrify 8 жыл бұрын
Well, I totally agree with you and it was good pointing that out, but that wasn't my point. My point is that as a teenager you were either "cool" by having sex or not, even excluded as a member of a group because of sex! And that's crazy!!
@bryancommisso
@bryancommisso 8 жыл бұрын
Elina Savvaki Yeah, I got that from your original comment. I just think the word/idea of virginity gives sex more value than it should have. Sex is very serious when it comes to the consequences and safety, and it should be unimportant when it comes to the social aspect. Shaming someone for not having sex is like a skydiver shaming someone for never having jumped out of a plane.

My sex education focused on abstinence, but did mention condoms (but mostly that they were problematic and there was no demonstration of how to put one on, but my friends' class included it) with an emphasis on STD's with their symptoms and treatments. You can cut down on ingrown hairs by changing the method of shaving. An old school straight bladed safety razor, along with a proper shaving soap and brush cuts down on it a great deal. The whiz bang 5-6 blade razors with the propellant shaving cream is what causes a great deal of irritation and in grown hairs. Cheers Hannah!

i wish teachers would stop ignoring rape jokes or people generally being gross about consent. we weren't taught anything about consent except my ict teacher (who somehow had to teach sex ed) telling us that you should get as far away from a boy that calls you frigid as you can (great advice)

Hi Hannah, your video was great. It was really informative and I loved it. I was wondering if you could do a video about your ulcerative colitis and how it has effected/still effects you ? I just wondered because I was diagnosed about three years ago and I'm slightly worried about leading an independent life with such an erratic disease. Thanks so much xx

If you shave with the hair not against them and put on natural oils afterwards, you can prevent ingrown hairs (not guaranteed but works for many).

I wish I knew that asexuality existed and that it was perfectly normal (I wasn't broken). Also I wish someone told me what is considered too severe for a period. I went years thinking it was perfectly normal to bleed through tampons in less than 2 hours, have to miss school because of debilitating cramps and migraines, and have severe nausea. No one told me otherwise and no doctors asked me any questions (just have you been getting your period each month). There's no way for a 9 year old girl to know what is normal or not for her body.

I wish we'd been taught more about consent as well, tbh sex education overall was pretty appalling - but I left high school ten years ago so I *really* hope that things have improved since then.

You never learn everything about sex. In fact it is a continual learning experience. I am 3 weeks shy of 60 and am still learning volumes. Yes, there is really that much to learn about sex. So much, in fact, that each time should be looked upon as an adventure.

I am so proud of Hannah. Not once in this video did she refer to people born with a vagina as females. We need more people like her, not forcing genders and/or genitals on people.

Just to let you know that I wish I would have know, in grown hairs can lead to cysts which can grow really large and can be painful. But it's not to fret to much if they do develop in sensitive areas (which really hurts I know and can be embarrassing 😫😱😳) it can normally be taken care of a doctor. Let them drain it and give antibiotics DONT pop it/drain it yourself it doesn't work to get it completely drained and will irritate the area more.

About shaving the bikini line-- I have done it since I went for my first waxing and decided that really really wasn't for me. SHAVE IN THE DIRECTION THE HAIR IS GROWING. Get into a comfortable yet convenient (the area is flat and relaxed) position. Be PATIENT. and gentle. Use plenty of soap/shaving lubricant/whatever you use! It takes a couple tries to get it right, but it's possible to do it without getting ingrown hairs :)

Definitely that the hymen doesn't need to be "broken" but will always be there and just stretch and that your first time doesn't have to hurt and you don't have to bleed. Found that out when I was 21 😱

Great video as usual! Sex ed at my school was pretty basic, we had a couple of classes in year 10 or 11 so when we were 16/17 which is way too late. I vaguely remember being told about different kinds of contraceptives and STDs but I don't think it helped me much, I have learnt a lot more on the internet. The main thing I remember from class is putting condoms on bananas.

quick one about punises, since they weren't covered all that much. lots of small tiny little pimples underneath the edge of the are pretty normal. it is a good idea to get tested if you find them however. but yeah. don't worry lads you don't necessarily have galloping knob rot.

I'm so glad you talked about checking the girls. I donated every year to breast cancer research. Just because I thought it was important. Then my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and beat it. I ordered key chain lights for my business to give to women to remind them to get checked. If you email me your address mailing address I will send you one.

I wish I had been taught that for those with vaginas, immediately after sex is not cuddle time. It is go to the bath room to flush out your urethra time. I would have avoided so many UTIs and a bladder infection had someone told me.
