You looked beautiful and I imagine loads of people were looking at the wellies wishing they’d had the same idea! My husband and I once had to go home and get changed between the church and reception part of a (thankfully local) wedding because we got absolutely soaked to the skin in a torrential downpour. We didn’t have second outfits planned at all so really had to throw something together quickly and head back out!

Well done, Gwenny! I find weddings incredibly frustrating to dress for. You did a great job of having a backup and a series of different accessories and footwear depending on the weather, which is so smart. I think you did a fabulous job! I love the first set of flats you showed with the bows! I went to a wedding reception right before Halloween, and I took the opportunity to pair a black blazer / top with a super cute black tulle skirt with bats embroidered into it (over an orange colored “under” skirt) and I loved it. Not only was it cute, but it was comfortable. If I gotta dress fancy, I still want a touch of my personality in the mix! ❤

I remember how it felt not being able to find clothing I felt good in/liked in my size when I was a UK 24. I’ve dropped to a size UK 12 now but I still vehemently believe that It is about bloody time the fashion industry bucked its ideas up. We come in all different sizes and shapes and we’re all beautiful! So why is this often times not reflected in the high street? Anyway, that dress you managed to find looked so nice on you Gwenny. Really feminine and flowy but then with the boots was a fab fun juxtaposition. Me liked! I’m glad you had a good time too. 💖

It helped that the frock was floor-length on me, the wellies were somewhat disguised! No one else wore wellies, and I saw a LOT of potentially ruined fancy shoes! 🫣☔
