While the fanfic's ok, it's annoying that Anakin didn't consider the Jedi had known how to extend life or heal. There are Jedi Master that are thousands of yrs old and still looking young like Master Fay. She's strong in the Force but mostly travels across the galaxy. The Ancient Jedi before the Sith split from the original order in Tython, they've studied and known the techniques to extend life and heal ppl. There's a safe way and the extreme way that the Sith uses. So the stupid part is that why didn't Anakin ask any of the other Jedi Masters for training on how to heal or prevent death or at least prolong life. Even when the war's going to end, It's a war time era and those skills are still very useful in the battlefield. You'd think that even in war time, there's field training as the Masters aren't dogmatic enough to prevent ppl from learning something new. There's the light side version and there's the dark side version. The dark side version of Life Energy Transfer is that it was weaponized into Life Drain. So Anakin should had learned the basics of this technique to do battlefield healing. Instead of just using a single source, he could use the whole battlion worth of life energy donors to reduce the risk and increase its effectiveness.
