I lived in South Carolina as a kid, and what was often said was South Carolina (Which unsurprisingly started the Civil War) had the highest percentage of slaves, and it wasn't till the great migration till South Carolinas white population overtook the Black population the vast majority were descendant or slaves themselves.

No new land, no lost land, it’s legitimately the same shape as it started as. As an LDS (mormon) Utahn, I thought this was hilarious. Once California collapsed, I knew it was only a matter of time before Deseret formed. The Confederate states, and Japan forming were a welcome surprise. the final map of North America had me laughing my head off. It's too bad Utah never got to Africa with all the LDS members there. And Europe just did nothing sadly.

This is very late, but as a history buff myself (decently well versed in American and European history) I can confirm that the religious map is pretty correct. The US was seen as almost a safe haven for protestants, especially those trying to escape Catholic and Anglican England. And the US is still majorly protestant to this day, despite what some believe.

Arkansas didn't ally with Utah, they allied with what was left of Georgia and took Georgia's color then renamed the nation The Confederate States. Utah allied with what was left of Nebraska? Or just took their color when they changed the name to Deseret. Deseret and The Confederate States probably would have negotiated more of a treaty than an alliance. Though currently, if both were formed today, Deseret and The Confederate States would both adopt traditional values and conservative principles so they would have plenty in common to form an alliance.

I feel like the CSA would turn up almost immediately, Texas would become independent after a revolt and promptly take over Mexico. Cascadia would form and mind their own damn business. California would become the California Republic and then shortly after a civil war would lead to North California & SoCal being formed as independent countries and would be at war so frequently that they wouldn't realise the Mormons were moving in from Utah and taking their land. Alaska would immediately take over all of the Northern Territories of Canada. All of the North Eastern states would be at constant war and wouldn't expand anywhere. Florida would sneak off into the Caribbean, take every island possible and then start establishing colonies in West Africa, only to get kicked out by Louisianan colonies that were already established there because Florida didn't leave them any Caribbean islands. And Wisconsin, Illinois & Michigan would essentially just take turns throwing one punch at a time at each other instead of expanding into Canada, while Alaska takes over and become the global overlords.
