I love season 2 more than season 1 even though I'm well aware of all the flaws that many fans have pointed out. But I truly enjoyed getting to know each character on a deeper level (as opposed to ss1 which is more theme and ideal focused). Ekko was my fav in ss1 and seeing him shine in ss2 is so satisfying. His love story with Jinx is extremely well-written and gut wrenching. I do think they've done the best they can, given the time limit. I've already rewatched it more times than I can count (twice in full and various in short sections).

Season 2 is awesome and I like it more than season 1. However, I can't pass the fact that this season would has been even better with a bit more episode/time. There is so much things happening at the same time that it feels a bit rushed out.

I really liked season 2 and I also have a friend who's watching it for the first time this week, that prefers season 2 to season 1 lol Tbh the "it ruined Arcane!!11!" crowd is loud but very small, vast majority of people liked season 2 while also agreeing it needed more episodes untime. It has flaws but it didn't ruin anything, most people weren't hooked up by the Piltover\Zaun plot, but by the visuals, the animations and the characters themselves, and none of that was ruined in season 2.

@@DeadKraken I do think the Piltover-Zaun thing is very interesting and it sparks important discussion. At the same time, that problem can never be fully solved, it’s a realistic direction. Oppression is not gonna magically stop after a few big fights, it’s just gonna shift and we have to keep adapting and fight it. This is what the show tried to say in the end. However I do think they handled some characters a bit carelessly. But we’re not gonna jump into that rabbit hole.

@@harmony137 That plotline IS interesting, what I meant was that it was not the hook that captured mainstream attention(like the "season 2 ruined Arcane" people insist), because there is so much media with an exact or very similar concept. What captured the public were the characters and the visuals+animation, so this is why the general sentiment from casual viewers is that season 2 is good. I personally found the way Caitlin, Vi and Jinx were handled not entirely of my liking, the worse is Vi imo, that this season just follows along anything like a lost puppy. And more things could've been done with the Piltover\Zaun storyline that would've made sense and make the final episode more impactful(I'm thinking about a rebellion\civil war guided by Jinx, that ends with the rebels joining Piltover to save it from Ambessa and then being granted more than 1 seat in the council or an agreement of independence), but I do understand they had to do many cuts to make space for the Hextech plot.
