Wow, that was an eye (throat) opener. Loved the practical examples like the "Run" comparisons. Gonna try this out this evening, thanks man

It's amazing that in cases that you identify as wrong technique you're still sounding great!

It is, but I think it is not actually helping as it is very hard to understand the difference that way :)

Hi K, you say about cramming stuff into ten minutes; I’ve watched all of your output, including from your “killed-off” channel (you must have upset someone big😅!), and I come back for reference time and again. You’re a bloody good teacher (wish I could afford your lessons) and you are making a difference. Peace and love dude 😊 Frenchy

Great as always! Did Chris Cornell use more chest push in his later Audioslave style? Personally started learning mix with cry and witchy voice and used that for a while, but felt the sound improve when learning fuller belts which had the sensation of pushing up chest until the resistance suddenly went away and produced a really loud free resonance in the back of the head

I hear you - but let me tell you a story. Imagine you need your bathroom pipes fixed - there's two plumbers to choose from. There's the el'cheapo guy that charges $50 an hour, then there's the bees-knees guy that charges $300 an hour. You hire the el'cheapo guy to do the job (i mean, that's obvious, right?) but it takes 20 hours to complete, he breaks a separate pipe in the process that then takes an extra two hours to repair - and he doesn't do a great job on it. This cost you $1200, and you're going to have to have him come back in a few months to fix that pipe permanently, probably costing you another couple of hundred. So, ultimately $1500 to get your bathroom pipe fixed - he also misses an extra leak that was under the floor, and in 6 months you have to spend $5000 having your bathroom floor retiled and repaired. Now, let's say you went with the bees-knees guy at $300 an hour, he fixes the whole thing professionally in two hours, and also points out that there's another under floor leak that should be fixed immediately, ultimately saving you $5000 of re-tiling from damage that would have occurred. You pay him $600 in total, the job is done professionally, and you ultimately save $5000. Others charge less, but you'll spend more time with them and often get lesser results. To answer your question, I'd reach out to me personally first so I can hear what's really going on, and what the real solution is going to be. Best, K

@FoundationVocalStudio the problem is el cheapo often claims to be el profesjonalisto...when he is not. And u end up spending 5000$ and still got no bathroom.

I've heard a few different coaches give the instruction "work on bringing ur head voice as low as possible."....why am I doing this? What would be the next step that doing this leads to? Love the new channel! Thanks. 🙂
@FoundationVocalStudio9 ай бұрын
The key here is to make your voice "one" - don't bring your head voice 'down', make it ONE with chest voice. Most likely, they're talking about the edge of the fold (head) and the body of the fold (chest) - when you sing in 'mix' it's a bit from column A and a bit from column B. Sheerly bringing head voice down doesn't achieve this, nor does dragging chest. The key is in the vowel - what variant are singing, when and why? K

Hey Keegan, im starting to practice the cry on lower notes, but when i go higher, it breaks when i make it louder. Is this normal? is this the right path?
@FoundationVocalStudio9 ай бұрын
Don't make it louder, just get that connection first, then build from there. It's called MIXED voice for a reason, it's a mix of head and chest, not avoiding head. K
@romanlimbuz3093 ай бұрын
Why am cracking my voice is there a certain reason behind that?
@FoundationVocalStudio3 ай бұрын
There's many reasons why - if it's a range thing where you split into falsetto, go slow and light until you can connect the two and work from there. If it's breaking up and grinding, you've likely got a vowel off or maybe an airflow/compression issue. What happens when you go from A3 to A4 chest to head voice? K
@romanlimbuz3093 ай бұрын
It doesn't exactly break it just feels so weak at e4,f4 and sometimes breaks. I just dont get enough power at this range Is there anything i can do for that?
@FoundationVocalStudio2 ай бұрын
E4 is likely dead centre in your voice - use the CT muscle/cry at this point to pitch the notes instead of pushing from your belly. K

Please do a video of distortion
@FoundationVocalStudio8 ай бұрын
It's one of those 'walk before you can run' type things - I haven't found it useful to just jump into distortion when I teach, when it's really just the result of well rounded technique. Best - K

Why does every vocal coach talk about Chris Cornell lol
@FoundationVocalStudio Жыл бұрын
Could it be because I bought Badmotorfinger in 1991 and I've been a huge fan of his insane singing ever since? Nope, must just be some weird vocal coach tic.
