Having planetary rings visible in the sky would look way more spectacular than just one grey rock, right? Maybe. But if our planet got beautiful rings like these tomorrow, much of life on Earth might not survive the renovation process.

We think of dangerous things coz its actually not possible to do . And whats possible isn't dangerous. As per the full human potential, what we are capable to do is never dangerous. And what we are incapable is, dangerous. And we mostly think of what we aren't capable of. Example: Haven't you thought/dreamt of the ability to fly? Yes, of course, Everyone would like to have such an ability, atleast as a child. While have thought of how you are walking with two legs on earth? Isn't it a wonder No. Coz you are capable of doing that. Even if you thought you'll end the thought fast as Balance and Gravity as the answer. The nature of human brain "ALMOST" thinks about incapable stuff. And most of such matters are dangerous.

But why would the rings stop us from travelling through space altogether? Wouldn't they be placed zonally, like around specific latitude parallels, just like he said about "shadowed places on Earth"? Wouldn't it be possible to launch the satellites, rockets etc. far from the rings and navigate in space to avoid them?

Well, no matter what angle you place a satellite in orbit, it will always encounter the rings, since earth is a sphere. But, if you were to place the satellite in an orbit higher than the rings, the chances of it hitting one would be 0. The problem with most ideas of space is that people think rockets/satellites can just easily change an orbit. To change an orbit, you have to put a lot of force on the object. Wherever you go in space, it will always try to make it look like an orbit.

I’m not an Astrophysicist but from what I remember places that launch rockets and spaceship like cape Canaveral they’re specifically picked because the gravity is weaker there due to north and south poles. Going by that the rings would be along that weak line around the earth and would be in the way of launching rockets and spaceships. There’s a whole math to it, there’s specific people for the job cause one mistake and you just wasted billions of dollars

There is a lot of false information in this video. Temperatures under the ring would not rapidly decrease because our atmosphere holds heat, for the same reason the night side of the Earth is not minus 40 degrees. When Thea hit our planet, a ring did not form around the Earth. The moon formed from this debris far too quickly for a ring to form.

@@joneshugh orbital speeds are so high that getting hit by even a grain of sand could destroy any space craft, then again just going around the rings wouldn't be impossible just don't launch from the equator.

Regarding the internet thing, most of our internet is supported by undersea cables and not satellites. Satellites help is navigation, observation and military operations.

Why would the shadow of the rings be uninhabitable? The shadow of the moon during a solar eclipse is perfectly habitable. And so is like, nighttime
