ECW would never have gotten over with the mainstream audience at all. There is a reason it was underground and counter culture for it's entire lifespan. I love ECW but even I can admit that it does not translate well to mainstream audiences. I don't think they would've ever tolerated or accepted it as it was. Like RVD said, there would have to be compromises and it would lose it's charm and appeal. The WWE revived ECW, to RVD's point, had to go thru that & we all know what happened there. So we KNOW what it would've taken to get it to a mainstream platform & we saw that it just does not work in any way, shape or form in that perspective.

I’ve seen all from 1980-Now I’m from NY was blessed to attend every Supercard/PPV from 1993-2001 the only PPV I didn’t attend was Heat Wave 2000 in CA amazing memories

I never seen ECW when it was on T.V. It wasn't on Cable T.V where I lived in Canada.

ECW Needed To Cater To The Casual Fans. Had 90% Small Guys And Small Guys Who Heavyweights In Cruiserweights Bodies. They Had 3 Wrestlers With Size & Talent To Be Stars-Mike Awesome, Rhyno & RVD.

The prick wasn't paying the wrestlers. If it went mainstream it'd be a bigger fail. More people are unpaid more in debt. Worse bankruptcy
