The Watcher gathers another team to save the multiverse again? Been there, done that. In the first episode of What If, it established again in a different universe that no matter what, Peggy and Steve's love is always true. Endgame: Steve left all of it, after everything he fought and sacrificed for... to go back to the love of his life. This episode finale: Out of time, Peggy took the opportunity to ask the Watcher, even if it was a slim chance... if she could go back to the love of her life. It's so emotional and heartbreaking. But that post credits scene makes me want more... XD

Here’s an idea I had for a “What If” episode that I’d like to see in Season Two. This story explores how the Time Heist in _Endgame_ would have differed if the Reality Stone (Aether) had never been given to the Collector on Knowhere but instead remained in the vault on Asgard along with the Space Stone (Tesseract), despite the concerns that it might be unwise. Here’s what I think would happen in that story: For starters, Thor would still travel back in time to 2013-Asgard but would now arrive shortly after the events of the _Dark World_ movie instead of during. Also, instead of going back with Rocket Raccoon, he would now go back with Scott Lang (Antman). The story-reason being that they can’t just rematerialize directly inside the vault because it’s protected by a magic forcefield, and thus they need to materialize just outside the vault and break in. To do this, Lang shrinks down to fit through the door’s keyhole and then grows back to regular size and opens the vault from the inside to let Thor in. The pair then simply grab the two stones and head home. As for how the Time Stone and the Mind Stone would be acquired in this alternate Time Heist, we would now have a trip back to 2015 immediately following the opening events of the _Ultron_ film, instead of having the mission to 2012. In this version, only two Avengers are needed: Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff. Here, they initially arrive on the roof of the New York Sanctum where they convince the Ancient One to let them borrow the Time Stone after promising to return all the stones to their rightful place once they are done with them. After being given the stone, Romanoff returns home with it while Stark activates his Ironman suit and flies to the Avengers headquarters where Loki’s sceptre is being brought after having been recovered from Baron Strucker. There, Stark activates his suit’s “stealth mode” to render himself invisible and then waits until the scepter is left alone in the lab so he can just grab it and transport back to 2023. This leaves us with the trip to 2014-Morag/Vormir to recover the Power Stone and Soul Stone. Now since Steve Rogers was replaced by Romanoff in the new 2015 mission, and since Rocket was replaced by Lang in the 2013 mission, these two instead join Rhodes and Nebula while Clint Barton sits out the mission entirely since he already played his part by taking the test-run to his pre-snap home. Hulk also sits out from the missions since he will play his part in reversing the snap afterward. In this new version of the 2014 mission, Rhodes and Rocket wait on Morag for Peter Quill to arrive while Rogers and Nebula fly the ship to Vormir. The Orb containing the Power Stone is then obtained in a very similar manner as in the original film - i.e., with Rhodes knocking out Quill, and Rocket stealing his tool for opening the temple. Once inside, Rhodes pulls the Orb through the forcefield which destroys a layer of his armor, but does not damage his physical body, and the pair return to 2023. Meanwhile, Rogers and Nebula arrive on Vormir where Rogers is initially and naturally surprised to see the Red Skull again. After he and Nebula learn that obtaining the Soul Stone requires the seeker to lose someone they love, the dialogue between them has Nebula revealing that she never allowed herself to grow emotionally attached to any of the other Avengers for fear of being hurt again, whereas Rogers has grown to love and respect Nebula as a highly valued teammate. Hence, Nebula then jumps off the cliff before Rogers can stop her, thereby allowing him to take the stone. Prior to all this, however, Nebula’s 2014-counterpart starts projecting future images, thereby alerting 2014-Thanos to the Time Heist and sending him on course to Vormir now instead of Morag. Thankfully, he barely arrives too late, and Rogers is able to transport back to 2023 with the stone just before Thanos is able to beam him up to the ship to capture him. Nevertheless, unbeknownst to Rogers, the 2014-Thanos now knows about the future. Back in the present-day (2023), after mourning for Nebula, the team constructs a new gauntlet which Hulk uses to reverse the snap and bring everyone back, but there is no battle afterward with the 2014-Thanos, meaning that Stark, much like Romanoff, now survives. The team then uses the time machine again to return the stones in the following manner: First, Stark returns to 2015 and rematerializes in the lab of the Avengers headquarters immediately after his earlier future-self departed so he can return Loki’s scepter with the Mind Stone back inside. Likewise, Romanoff also returns to 2015 to give the Time Stone back to the Ancient One. Next, the Tesseract and Aether are returned to 2013-Asgard by Thor and Lang who afterward sneak over to Odin’s wine cellar to grab a celebratory drink before heading home. Meanwhile, the Orb with the Power Stone is returned to 2014-Morag by Doctor Strange who afterwards uses his magic to heal the knocked-out Peter Quill and then erase his memories (and rewind his walkman) so that he will continue dancing toward the temple just like in the original _Guardians_ film. Lastly, Rogers returns the Soul Stone to 2014-Vormir where he afterwards tells the frustrated Red Skull of his intension to return back to the late-1940s and reunite with Peggy Carter. In the epilogue sequence, the 2014-Thanos is still hovering over Vormir, which allows him to secretly witness Rogers giving the Soul Stone back. Thanos then goes down to the planet after Rogers has left and learns more about the future Time Heist from the Red Skull -- including how the Soul Stone needs to be reobtained. As a result of all he has learned, Thanos now decides to tweak the latter part of his plans. For starters, he will allow the future events leading up to 2018 unfold as they did originally so he can obtain the six stones in more or less the same way as before. The main difference however is that instead of using the six stones afterward to only snap out half the universe, he will now instead reboot the entire universe so that no one will ever know that the snap happened in the first place, thereby preventing it from ever being reversed. Any thoughts? Let me know.

It was probably the combination of the vibranium suit and his status as the Black Panther that allowed Killmonger the ability to use the stones. In a way, the heart shaped herb is a means of infusing the body with some of the elements of vibranium.

Great review y’all, as usual! So it never fully gets explained, but knowing his history, I’ll answer: The Watcher is apart of a race of other Watchers too in the comics. From the start, they weren’t Watchers at first. They were just an advanced species on their own planet. So they ventured into the universe and found planets that were primitive compared to theirs. So they left them technology in order to try to help them advance. When they eventually returned, they seen that the worlds not only advanced, but used the technology to cause warfare & ended up killing each other. Due to this, the Watchers blamed themselves and from there on out, took an oath to just watch things play out and to not intervene. Uatu, the main watcher in the comics is the one in What If.

The Watcher reports to the Living Tribunal. It is one of the most powerful cosmic beings. The Living Tribunal was rumored to be in Infinity War but was changed. When Strange was looking at all the outcomes in Infinity War there was rumors that he was talking to the Living Tribunal and that it showed Strange the one outcome. I hope we see the Living Tribunal in the next Dr. Strange movie. " Multiverse of Madness" or in Eternals. Living Tribunal created the Celestrials which intern created the Eternals

Clint didn't blow up when he got the Soul stone in Endgame. Not all the stones behave like the Power stone. Jane Foster (in Thor: TDA) had the Reality stone inside her. (killing her slowly, but it was there for a while.) Don't know how Banner transferred the Time stone he got in Endgame, but he's Hulk, so maybe he could tank it. The Space stone (in the Tesseract) sent the Red Skull to Vormir, but Peggy Carter handled it no problem in her What If episode. The Infinity stones works for Ultron becose they are from his universe (if you are in different universe but still with the stones from your universe they still work) and it makes sense that Zola could use them but I don’t understand Why Killmonger was able to use them (for him they should be powerless just like in LOKI the stones in TVA were for Loki, except for that teseract from his universe). It’s from director of What if and honestly it makes sense but that Killmonger thing is still weird to me. But I love the fight even tho I don’t understand how some german scientist in PC can destroy an AI created from an Infinity stone.

I rly dont think the animation and live action teams talked to each other because they have retconned how the stones work in other universes now. The comics and loki established that they shouldn’t work outside of their respective universe.

Comics are 100% a separate continuity with completely different logic. Loki established ONLY that the stones did not work in the TVA, because the stones are magic and “magic doesn’t work here.” They NEVER touched on how stones work in different universes. Stop applying rules that were never established. Manage expectations.

Hulk struggle to use the stones, because of the neno gauntlet which is Earth tech and it cannot be compared to vibranium & the gauntlet that Thanos wore which was made by the giant dwarf that made stormbreaker.

Killmonger was only able to hold the stones because it wasn't ALL of them (go ahead, count again :p ). That and him wearing vibranium which resists energy. The mind stone was still in vision's head. And we've established in the past that vibranium and other metal allows can at least preserve the stones. That's also why Zola was able to summon the stones from killmonger using his mind stone but killmonger was pulling them back with his infinity suit.

Im pretty sure Widow was supposed to be sent to the universe where the Avengers got killed by Pym, but she wasnt. In the universe she was sent to, Loki had the mind stone. So it has to be a different universe than the one where he never met Thanos and invaded earth with the asgardian army.

No it’s definitely the universe from episode 3 since Captain America and Captain Marvel were the only Avengers fighting Loki’s forces. Loki getting the scepter that contained the mind stone was probably one of those offscreen moments well will never see.

Ultron said that the stones are different in each universe. In the comics, the stones don't damage or kill the user after one or even a few uses. The user can use them as often as they wish without harm to themselves. That means you don't have to be superpowers or have armor on to use them. Ordinary humans can weird them. The stones of Ultron Visions universe are more similar to the comics than the movie sacred time line versions of the stones.

I actually enjoyed this episode, such an unexpected turn from the main timeline crossover we've seen before (Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy). A lineup of the Guardians of the Multiverse I did not really expect to see, yet it's disappointing that Ultron here is the one that the Avengers supposed to face. I thought the Watcher will help them fight Ultron, but I guess they did the best strategy to defeat him... well not what I thought to see. And come on, that Peggy-Nat friendship is so pure. And also, a swan song performance from Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa. - 8/10. I thought the mid-credits scene is okay. Disappointed because we never found out if Steve's in there.

@@jasapotato8362 Yup, Thanos was ok until he used the stones to destroy the stones, that surge must have damage him. Hulk too, undoing the snap must have been more taxing than doing the snap. And he had to use precision rather than blind chance to bring them back. Killmongrel also have a whole ass vibranium suit to protect him from the stones effect i think. While Tony just had his human body and the kickass nanobot suit, but im sure it's just normal material compare to vibranium.

Not gonna lie ,,, I actually got teary-eyed at the end and not just because of the end credits.. More of a happy teary-eyed.. Each episode in the series so far has been pretty epic in my opinion... I don't have a favorite... but the episode to make me laugh the most was definitely the party one...The most grim saddest one to me was the Doctor Strange one, Sad to see the season is over .I was looking forward to the series every week... Looks like they brought back the celestial rule when It applied to crushing the infinity stones.. Who else was crossing there fingers when black widow Showed up in a different universe ,,, would be killer to see her back in the MCU sacred time line universe just to see everyones reaction
