I always figured that if Faerie island wasn’t magical, the faerie element would be replaced with air. In fact, all of the new air elementals could play the parts of the magical ‘equivilents’. For example, growl could play the whimsies part, PomPom could do Cantorell, etc. I’ve yet to see anyone do this what-if

Actually, it’s been confirmed that was the original plan, before the concept for the magical islands was created, in I believe an extra life livestream Matt said that the original plan was for the magical islands to be “like the islands before them” (aka the fire islands) with faerie island having PomPom, making it have air instead of faerie
