It's a misconception that American megafauna and Australian megafauna went extinct due to climate change, we arrived in Australia and it's megafauna disappeared, we arrived in America and it's megafauna went extinct as well.
You do know there are reports of an animal called Mapinguari right? Basically it is said to be from 6.6 to 10 feet in height and with massive claws, reddish and brown fur and can walk bipedally and quadripedally with a large and thick tail. While we don't know if the ground sloth was aggressive, the Mapinguari was territorial and if you look at the two-toed sloth they can at times be a bit aggressive. Likely a living relative of the Mylodon a species of ground sloth that went extinct 5,000 years ago. Also, we shouldn't bring extinct species back, because we need to focus on more important things like vaccines, cures, medical attention and even to conserve Endangered species.
@KeizerKai4 жыл бұрын

Despite the superficial similarities, the Two-Toed Sloths (genus Choloepus) and Three-Toed Sloths (genus Bradypus) are not in the same family, nor are they closely related, the similarities are actually an example of convergent evolution, they are placed within the monogeneric families Choloepodidae and Bradypodidae respectively, the former is actually part of the superfamily Mylodontoidea, which groups Choloepodidae (Two-Toed Sloths) with the extinct ground sloth families Nematheriidae, Scelidotheriidae, and Mylodontidae, while the latter is part of another superfamily known as Megatherioidea, which groups Bradypodidae (Three-Toed Sloths) with the extinct ground sloth families Nothrotheriidae, Megalonychidae, and Megatheriidae.
