You have to remember. The story in the what if is if a single circumstance was changed, how greatly would that affect the story? Gine stopping is like Yamcha stopping. A relevant character drifting into the background. They'll still be around on occasion but not anywhere nearly as much.

He was pretty cowardly before he became perfect, always going after easier targets and those weaker than him. In the process she becomes the dominate mind in the body, but gains most of his strengths like regeneration?

I both hate and love your cliffhangers at the same time... Anyhoo, actually good to see some real "human" drama in DragonBall. Something you don't see much much of... if at all. Cause the show has always been about fighting, with character development being more a secondary thing.
