Second, it's good to see Meowth finally made his decision on where his alegence lay, and I personally can't wait for his fight against Jessie, James, and Mao (Alolan Meowth). Holy heck, that's some clever storytelling. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with next. Your combined work is definitely better than the sum of its parts. I hope to see more collabs like this in the future, honestly. I love the backstory here. Giovanni always knew that his life could have been so much better if he just had a pokemon partner early... and now we see the truth there. Given the opportunity, his successor managed to make even mewtwo his partner. Vito made his son more like himself than anyone realized... and everyone suffered the consequences. Thankfully, the Giovanni who raised ash was the boy who saved a nidoran, not the man who stole food with a persian... his two faces don't seem to agree with each other.

This is by far the best episode in the series so far. The flashbacks. The battle with Mewtwo. The cliffhanger ending. But honestly what tops it for me Meowth's redemption. It was perfectly done imo. Almost made me cry lol. Really great job, guys! Most teams of writers for primetime shows can't continue the story into the next season this seamlessly as TWO PEOPLE can. As a powerscaler, I can't help but notice that Krookodile (by himself and without Moxie boost if my memory is correct, even with a type advantage/immunity this is impressive) really did significantly better than the best trainers in all of Kanto (including the champion himself) all jumping him at once. Makes sense tho as Mewtwo wasn't mental amped against Krookodile. (Sorry for the unrelated tangent, just couldn't resist. Again, great job guys! 👍)

Krookodile had a few advantages during that fight mind you. Mewtwo had been ganged up on fairly well for the first time, he'd already fought 5 of Gary's strongest and he's far stronger than his canon counterpart, it also had multiple mons that could hit it for suppereffective damage that it couldn't return the favor to (Dune's BugBuzz, Krook's everything, Feraligatr's Crunches), was only then encountering a dark type because Kanto has very few etc etc hence Gio claiming it as a test. With the battle against Kanto's best though Mewtwo was better prepared, only really had to worry about Ghosts types like Gengar it could smack back pretty easily, and also wasn't tasked with defeating them but capturing them, hence why by the end everyone's Pokemon are in decent enough shape to walk out with Ash's rescue party.

So why did ash have that connection with mewtwo? That was interesting. I could never have seen this coming. What a great start to season 2. I feel ash and the others will start a new path. Since they destroyed the pokedex, does that mean that they are no longer sponsored? I like the dark theme.

In my opinion, it's a combination of Ash's natural aura abilities, and Mewtwo's strong capacity for empathy. Let's not forget its origin lies in the fact that it shared a strong bond with four other beings before they got snuffed out and the fact it has access to Aurasphere, and therefore even if limited, aura abilities

I love it, Ash has his aura awakening early and Professor Oak reveals his friend Mew (I mean it's a theory why Mew is around his lab so much that he is one of Oak's old partner Pokemon, but I haven't heard a what if with that theory in it yet). OK a few things 1st I liked the slower pace of this part 2nd I'm not surprised by Giovanni actions 3rd Giving Ash Kingdra interesting 4th When will the egg hatch? 5th I'm so excited for Honen 6th Based on the last screen shot of May & Max are in Team Aqua & Team Magma respectfully with May in Aqua & Max in Magma With my 7th and final point being since May & Max are in Aqua & Magma what happened to Norman and Caroline?
