The cell from the cell saga is from the future so he would the same strength as the original and you can even argue that the androids being stronger than the original can keep up with him better, I also suspect that dr gero got freizas dna when frieza and king cold came to Earth so in this what if he never knew of them (cmon he can't sneak a robot in their ship and travel to namek and return as well), in conclusion the cell saga shouldn't be a problem at all in this story
