I feel like if Bardock was just a little bit nicer and interacted more with his family (and maybe talked about Gine prior to this), he might have actually gotten her to come with so she can see the what Goku's life had become. I think she could've very well agreed. Her interactions with Chi-Chi, Bulma, 18 and Videl would've been lovely. Imagine finding about her Great granddaughter, Pan! If only Bardock hadn't behaved the way he had, it could've tipped things in his favor... ~•~ ~•~ ~•~ Also, Masoko, for an idea of a What If, what if Gine AND Bardock made it to Earth? As a man of science and rationality, he saw the futility of opposing Frieza and escaped with them? Possibly training his son to become the legendary Super Saiyan due to his ability to see the future? Since he was a man of science in prior canon and great one at that, he could've invented a new version of the space pod that was equipped with stealth technology, under the guise of making smoother invasions of powerful, technological worlds.

Could be an option. Bardock says the food can't compare to Gine's maybe at Bulma's party or later, and Beerus calls his bluff. So they go, probably with Goku so he gets to meet her to the West Kai's and she makes a meal for them using everything she's learned. Fits on the "Maybe could have been a chef to a king's court, or maybe even better" can't get much better than a GoD's chef. It'd also be a way for Bardock to spite the kai. And Bardock will be able to see Gine more and with training on Beerus's planet means Goku can as well.

I'm really loving this series a lot so far! I do love your take on how these events would play out if explored a different way than the norm. That being said. this part didn't really do it for me. It's still great, mind you, but it really feels like Gine's decision was a subversion for the sake of a subversion. I just think that her decision to stay would've made more sense had Bardock not been revived and Goku only visited him in between the arcs like the first few parts did. It's sorta like well you're already this far in you might as well commit? And I think it's still doable with the angle you're going for. All in all, I'm still very much looking forward to the rest series! Hope you have a good one!

Twist: Bardock is gonna be angry that Goku gets the Super Saiyan God form because it's a hand-out rather than being earned through training

But it can't be a hand out this time. Vegeta is not there. He was the one to know about the ritual. Also there has to be three Saiyans in order for it to work. Otherwise that first fight would have been both Goku and Vegeta. The only Saiyans present now are Goku and Barrdock. There are only three possible options MasakoX can take this. 1. Goku earns Super Sayian God form through sheer Goku determination. (cheap plot armor cop out) leaving this what if to continue. 2. Beerus is impressed enough by Goku's potential that after the battle is over that he offers to train Goku. Upon hearing an opportunity to surpass Vegeta's power level, Bardock is the one to hitch a ride using the same argument Vegeta used in the main timeline. 3. Beerus is so disappointed in the fight that he blows up Kai's planet....again. Then Earth is destroyed because Vegeta is unable to perform the ritual. Beerus is then left with no Earth food and no Super Saiyan God to fight. Beerus just goes back to bed.

What? Shenron was the one to reveal how the ritual works; 5 pure hearted Saiyans are needed to infuse their energy into the sixth host Saiyan. Gohan, Vegeta, Goten, Trunks and Bardock with Goku getting the power. If Bardock isn't pure heart enough, then Videl could do it since she's pregnant with Pan.

@@jaycee65hithere65 Ok I forgot Shenron and the amount of Saiyans it takes. My point however still stands. Bulma is not on King Kia's planet with the Dragon Balls. At this point the timeline might be messed up to the point that Bulma did not even gather the Dragon Balls for the prize. No living human could withstand the gravity meaning no Dragon Balls, No Bulma and/ or Videl. Videl not being there would not bet a problem as Bardock has been cleansed in this what if. So I'll give you that. But at the end of the day unless King Kai knows the ritual as well (which I feel teeters on the edge of lazy fanfic territory) then Goku would not have the knowledge to instantly transmit all the other Saiyans needed to perform let alone the ritual exists. Could Goku instantly transmit to the ship? Yes. Would he in the middle of a fight for some unknown reason? No. I will give you that after the battle a defeated Goku would if he survived the fight he could transmit to the ship. He was late in the original after all. However that would make Vegta the one to go SSGM. That would not end well.
