There’s a major flaw here. In the buu saga, it was stated that frieza was taken control of by babadi, but that’s severely wrong. In the namek saga, frieza was made pure of heart by the dragon balls, and as we’ve seen in canon, the pure of heart cannot be taken control of by babadis mind control, as seen with goku, meaning that there was and is no way that frieza could and should’ve been controlled by babadi, it makes absolutely no sense at all, just an observation

My point is, frieza's regret over his past actions doesn't erase them, and being pure of heart, such actions would torment him in the same way that they did Vegeta, who took decades to accept his past, in spite of being pure enough of heart to become both super Saiyan and super Saiyan God. While it is debated, many accept that being pure of heart is necessary for either of these transformations.

Tien is pure of heart, and he was practically an assassin less than a Decade before z. Change happens easily in dragon ball, and to be pure of heart is more like being somewhere on a scale than it is a single state of being.
