This makes me also wonder what had happened if we had never gone to space. Now bear in mind I don't mean "Raditz never turned up" I instead mean "What if Saiyans were never a thing and Goku remained unique in having his tail (the Sun Wukong aspect) and equally Piccolo is not a Namekian (as they don't exist either)" basically, what if we had gone into Z but stayed more in line with Dragon Ball. (Also consider that the Android Saga doesn't rely too heavily on the space stuff in its reason for happening so it can still happen albeit in a heavily modified form)

And as for the direction of this story... With knowledge of space, and a fighter's guild of all things, it would be a place Goku would have to go and learn new tricks, new fighting styles, meet new fighters, or... Have a reason to go to Namek, when fighters with a familiar sigil/crest are 'drafted' into Freeza's forces.

You have to give ChiChi props for being married to a battle hungry (and literally hungry) Saiyan who leaves for years at a time and has to take care of her kids by herself, except for when her dad Ox King comes over to visit. I respect ChiChi as a character in that regard. She also taught Goten how to fight which is cool.

I have two considerations for the next part of this what if: 1) I'm sure someone among the audience or the other gladiators, knows what a namekian is and will recognize Piccolo as one 2) This could very well lead to a different introduction to the Sayan race given that, in this particular setting, would stand to reason that one low class warrior Sayan was abducted as a fighter. His or her tail cutted off to prevent them to turn into a great ape. Maybe, we could have this Sayan actually following the trio back to earth in order to ask Piccolo about the Dragon Balls (giving them a reason to make a wish) but, since he's too hard to find, they'll go looking for Goku and Chichi, leading them to learn about both namekians and sayans before even Raditz shows up. Also, there's the fact that Chichi, knowing more about what lies beyond the stars, will probably be more keen to not only allowing Gohan to train in order to defend himself, but also wanting to become stronger herself to protect her family

Here's another question thats been burning me for a while, the saiyan pods should have an almanac of sorts of known planets in their sphere of the universe, with details of each race that they might "conquer" I feel as if bulma took and studied the pod, she'd find a schmorgasboard of information about races they can ally with and what not

It makes a lot of sense really. There is a ton of races out there in space and many of them were weak enough to be conquered by Frieza and his forces, and we aren't talking his elites either. The standard cannon fodder trooper was seemingly enough to run most of his territory without the likes of the Ginyu squad getting involved. So there should be tons of interesting and unique worlds out there to explore that are still withing the more modest power levels of the Dragon ball setting.

I can already see benefits to Goku, Piccolo and Chi Chi in terms of strength. Goku and Piccolo are probably at least double their strength from the start of the saiyan saga after so many fights with the Gladiators, and Chi Chi is probably around where Goku and piccolo originally were during the fight with raditz. This doesn't take into account with more motivation to fight stronger guys for Goku, thus getting more of a chance to train more, and Piccolo trying to keep up. So Raditz will definitely have a harder time fighting them when he arrives.

This could very well be the *actual* catalyst for Raditz to go find Goku. Maybe Goku is recognized in one of the broadcasts that the saiyans catch while conquering some planet, which then leads to Raditz taking the journey to reunite with his brother. It makes sense and helps fit this what if even more so as a plausible addition to the canon.

So a Fighters Guild interesting I like the idea of a Goku, Chi-Chi, and Piccolo adventure. Maybe this pushes the idea of Chi-Chi been okay with Goku training Gohan as long as it doesn't interfere with Gohan studying (Gohan's studying and training is balanced from the start.), but Chi-Chi joins in training Gohan too. Anyways I'm curious to see how this would effect the Z part of Dragon Ball, and hoping to see another part soon.

This would be a cool way of Raditz discovering Goku being alive and on earth. Hearing about Goku from whispers within the galactic underground he would travel to earth to find the "sayian gladiator" he heard so much about. Either he takes this information and goes to earth alone or Vegeta and Nappa arrive much earlier than in the original story. Either way Goku and Piccolo should be much stronger after this adventure maybe about 1,200 and 900 respectively (Unsure how long they were actually held captive but probably a few zenkais and a load of training and battles with similarly powered beings should help) nowhere near Vegeta or Nappa but strong enough to take down Raditz and maybe earn a little respect from the trio.

This is a really fun idea! It would make a great mid time-skip movie. When first describing the space fighting organization I immediately thought of the Star Trek Voyager episode Tsunkatse, where 7 of 9 and Tuvok get kidnapped and have to fight in gladiator games against The Rock lol. If it was canon I could also see it inspiring Goku to train harder from seeing the wide variety of fighters he has to compete against. Fighters from worlds with higher gravity or with wildly different styles. Also if they managed to snag a ship on their way home that could give Bulma and her father something to toy around with, ultimately reverse engineering it.

Anyone else think that Masako should do more videos on the MANY forgotten characters of DragonBall, he's done it for characters like Nappa and Raditz, if he's doing as early as just before DBZ and he's rewritten the origins before. There have been plenty of characters that have been forgotten all throughout DragonBall's history (such as Android 8), or maybe he could do more non canonical characters like Saibaking and the such

Loved it, Molta is a great character design and honestly I wouldn't be opposed to see her return in a what if or possibly R&R or Revalation F. The only thing is I was kind of expecting to see possibly monsters since we don't really get to see Earth's wacky creatures and monsters after Dragonball with the only closest thing of natural creatures of earth like that being the dog president or Shu.
