My theory “Mr Peterson had a well family, a son and daughter and wife, one day the son and daughter were playing hide and seek and when Mr Peterson came back he said the mom had died, this had angered the son and started blaming the daughter, one day the son lured the daughter to the top of the house and pushed her off killing the daughter, the son realized what he did and immediately went and told Mr Peterson, Mr Peterson got mad and locked the son in the basement, Nicky Roth had just been moving in and heard the sons screams, making him curious, so he goes in the basement to help him realizing he’s no where to be seen what is also the reasons for the simming posters (the son and daughter)” Sorry for it being so long LOL Also this is just my version I know it’s not cannon :)

The thing is hello neighbor had potential alpha 2 is probably where it peaked, no crazy house and still had advanced AI. The full build though has dumbed down neighbor ai and is all around a missed opportunity

Actually i did some investigation and found out if u watch the entire series of the hello neoghbor cartoon thing in one episode nicky and his friends went into his house and his friends also got in a camera and took pivs of everything and in one picture there was a hand and a shoe sticking out which means the neighbours son in still alive... We can see him in hello neighbor 2.. Hope this helps this took a lot of time to find out by my self

Mr. Peterson losing absolutely everything is the definition of rock-bottom for a man. The concept is fiction but the emotions aren’t, and it kinda makes you resort to extremities you would normally never ever consider doing in your life. Mr. Peterson was so overwhelmed with grief and anger trapped inside of him, which aided in the crippling of his sanity.
