it is because mobs take damage only each 10 ticks as default, so it wont cause an instant death

Now I envision them as entities that has just enough sentience and clearsightedness to occasionally see beyond "the veil", but only enough to vaguely remember if a player has done something horrible to them, or remember how a player might seem supernatural somehow without distincly remember why. The feeling of unease accumulates as the "sightings" leaves fragments of memories behind, and sometimes it causes a villager to snap... as anyone might, or even would. ... I may have been listening to a lot of horrorstories lately, and possibly been playing a (kind of) horrorgame. Ha, ha, ha! It makes for a plausible explanation though, or what do you think?

Well you see, the arrows are not going very fast since they are bouncing around in the water. So each arrow only does like a quarter of normal bow damage

I can’t believe what I just saw-Alexa Real, how could you?! Spawning Minecraft chickens above that death trap of water filled with arrows is one of the most heartless, twisted things I’ve ever witnessed. These poor, innocent chickens, flapping their wings, trying desperately to escape their fate, only to be mercilessly pierced by a barrage of arrows as they fall. It’s like watching a scene from some horrifying dystopian nightmare! The sheer cruelty is almost unbearable-each pixelated creature dropping helplessly into a watery grave, their clucks of confusion echoing in my mind. The betrayal, the injustice-it’s as if the laws of Minecraft’s peaceful pastures have been shattered! What did those chickens ever do to deserve such a brutal end? Alexa, you’ve crossed a line.
