What if events went differently in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? What If Marvel Zombies were in the MCU? How would it happen? Would anyone live? we are going to be exploring a brand new alternate timeline where the zombie virus takes place during the MCU Phase 3 films starting off with Thor Ragnarok and the battle for Asgard near the end of the film with Thor fighting Hela and her forces the Berserkers. Part 2 will be going over the events with Thanos getting the power stone and now has to fight off the undead Asgardians in a mega battle!

In one of the later sequel series to Marvel Zombies, he sort of was. After the zombies gain cosmic powers and devour literally their entire universe, they build an interdimensional portal to go to other realities to feed on. Uatu intervenes and sends each zombie to different alternate worlds (if I remember correctly, none of them were real either but pocket dimensions) and in one of them the zombie virus is unleashed in Stark's office in the 70s or 80s. At that time, Stark was still in the midst of his alcoholism and had developed special nanobots to repair his damaged liver and kidneys by destroying necrotic tissue before it could cause him physical damage. After vomiting on a zombie, the nanobots in his vomit did what they were programmed to do and destroyed it completely. Tony himself got infected but the nanobots kept the virus from reproducing through necrotized cells by destroying them before they could incubate viral cells. So, strictly speaking, he wasn't immune to the virus on his own (as the original Earth 2149 Iron Man was fully zombified shows) but his anti-necrotic nanobots served as a sort of vaccine to the virus by preventing it from reproducing out of control inside of his body.

The virus is so powerful that even Oatu the Watcher feared it. In the Zombies comics, Uatu states that no one could destroy the infection, only contain it so Uatu used his power to create a time loop that kept the virus contained to two alternate universes - Earths 2149 and 91126. In short, there is no cure, and thanks to the time loop the virus was able to be mutated and supplemented with Cosmic Power when the zombies ate Silver Surfer and Galactus, so even if there was a cure for the original virus before the creation of the time loop (though since the loop itself is a bootstrap or causal paradox, it could be argued that the virus never existed outside of the time loop), it would certainly not work on the cosmically enhanced virus.

It also took a very long time without eating flesh for that to take effect, and the Hunger is an overwhelmingly powerful urge for the infected - the only reason some zombies were able to get past that point was because there was literally nothing left to eat or they were so completely incapacitated they couldn't eat.
